en This is to help raise money for the kids. Our students don't know if they may need St. Jude one day or when it would hit close to home. Someone from our community is using St. Jude now, so hopefully this will be a big influence on the kids.

en St. Jude is clearly small enough for them to absorb. I think it's a good target. I don't think they're going to have trouble raising money for it.

en The kids have surpassed our goal of $5,000. We are so very proud of them all. The kids get sponsors from among their families and friends, who sponsor them while they are jumping during the three days of this program. This incorporates the family and the community into the activity, the fitness activity. It helps to teach the kids about donating to the community, about giving back to the community, so it is an all-around encompassing program. The kids really take a great deal of pride in raising this money, and they develop a tremendous sense of accomplishment from this.

en Just like each of the millions of Cabbage Patch kids that live with kids around the world, these two Kids are completely unique. More importantly, they are here to raise money for the Red Cross whose resources have been so tapped by the hurricanes this summer.

en He is an extraordinary manager and leader of St. Jude, and he is in the right job for him. You need to be independent, hard-driving and be your own person. You're small and playing the rules close to the edge. That's not the J&J way.

en Monroe basketball is here. Some of these kids are young and this is a great experience. We may not win all the time, but we'll compete. We didn't bring home a trophy, but these kids will bring home so much more. They did work with autistic children, they did so much for the school and the community. . . . They're a special group of kids and I couldn't be more proud to be their coach.

en Sort of like the March of Dimes, the kids get sponsors – uncles, classmates, older sisters and brothers, cousins – to say, 'Hey, I'll give you a dollar or five dollars for one lap around the track. The kids do a quarter-mile lap, which is one lap around the track at Drake Stadium, and the kids raise money for other children.

en It really shows what kind of kids we have in our program, ... I'm really pleased with what our kids did relative to getting together right away, with Jesse Holley being the leader of that group, to raise money. That is absolutely terrific.
