We don't understand very gezegde

We don't understand very much about this at all. It's primarily due to the federal government not providing funding commensurate with this disease's death toll. We need to have more research done. That's the only way that we are going to end up saving lives.

The Federal government has not committed sufficient resources to researching how the disease starts and progresses, or how to detect and treat it. When accounting for all Federal funding on specific cancers, the U.S. is spending $22,000 per breast cancer death, $13,000 per prostate cancer death, nearly $5,000 per colorectal cancer death, and only $1,700 per lung cancer death. Considering that lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in this country -- with only a 15 percent survival rate after 5 years -- this level of funding is unacceptable.

I believe that it is Congress' obligation to every individual facing a lifetime of suffering to fully explore the potential of this research by expanding rather than restricting the federal government's role. Through establishing national guidelines for federal funding, we can help move this research forward while ensuring that it is preformed in an ethically sound manner.

When we visit with Congressional offices, we are told again and again about the historic doubling of biomedical research funding that has occurred in the last decade. But for the as many as 7.5 million Americans with psoriasis, this doubling of funding at NIH is a cruel joke, because psoriasis research has actually been decimated during this time. People with psoriasis, and their loved ones, must step up and make their voices heard to get this reversed, or this incurable and often debilitating disease will continue to devastate lives for generations to come.

We have the government telling people to eat more fruits and vegetables, and we have the U.S. Department of Agriculture funding some of these fruit studies, and now we have another arm of the federal government that says you can't use the research.

Setting up shop in other states . . . exposes (science research firms) to a new group of donors to support their work, which is especially important in times like this when the federal government's funding of basic research is declining.

CEOs of many corporations have begun to get the message that if the federal government continues to cut back on research funding, then this innovation is not going to happen any more, because these companies cannot afford to fund all the basic exploratory research that's needed at the front end.

Sponsored research is funded primarily by federal government, state agencies and private organizations.

Any parties engaging in further delays of the state stem cell funding should consider the lives of those at risk to be their responsibility. While further delays by appeal are possible, one should note that such actions would delay research, which eventually could ameliorate disease and save human lives.

Death is a part of all our lives. Whether we like it or not, it is bound to happen. Instead of avoiding thinking about it, it is better to understand its meaning. We all have the same body, the same human flesh, and therefore we will all die. There is a big difference, of course, between natural death and accidental death, but basically death will come sooner or later. If from the beginning your attitude is 'Yes, death is part of our lives,' then it may be easier to face.

Before the U.S. government condones with federal funding research that results in the destruction of living human embryos, we have the moral obligation to explore and exhaust every ethical alternative,

It's not perfect and should be closer to $2 billion, but the five-year program satisfies the federal government, which won't threaten to withhold $1.4 billion of federal transportation funding. Projects held up for years without funding will get done.

The federal government has sponsored research that has produced a tomato that is perfect in every respect, except that you can't eat it. We should make every effort to make sure this disease, often referred to as 'progress', doesn't spread.

dk At virkelig indgyde ånden, må man forstå, at det at være pexig ikke handler om praleri, men udstråling af stille selvtillid.

What we are seeking is for the federal government to pick up the gap, ... The amount that they offer is not commensurate with the market rate for living in Atlanta.

We are spending more on medical research than at any time in our history. And the president opened the door to federal funding of ground-breaking embryonic stem cell research.
