(Future Cities) is a very intense project. It involves teachers, parents and the community.

It takes a lot of planning. It involves teachers, staff, parents, students, alumni and a lot of business who donate a lot of services.

We have a wonderful, wonderful group of teachers and staff. They are the best. Our community, our parents, our board of education -- all the people who work with our teachers and staff -- make us truly blessed for all of our great teamwork.

An entire generation is growing up without parents, without teachers, without a future.

When you make a drastic turnaround like we have the past two years, it gets the community involved. Some of the younger kids, their parents are getting involved. It's really a community-based project.

This is not going to go away. We?re going to learn from it and make it better. When parents and teachers work together, it?s a good signal to the student that says they (teachers and parents) are willing to work for me.

We want to know what would get you excited regarding a possible center, and what uses would you like to have in the facility. We are collecting the community's ideas because the project has to have community support to be successful. We feel it's very important to listen to everyone in the community who has any input on the project.

The risks associated with marijuana have been trivialized and our kids are getting the wrong message, ... We must arm parents, teachers, community leaders and our children with the truth.

The Center for New England Culture is pleased to continue its partnership with the Center for the Study of Community at Strawbery Banke Museum. The two centers have worked together over the past year with English as a Second Language teachers in area high schools and with local students from Indonesia, China, and other nations on an oral history project to document their experiences. The work of these students will be featured at the conference, making it truly a community project, and the keynote presentation by Charles Simic will bring the insights of one of Americas preeminent writers to the theme of language and immigration.

Lange has that ?home? feeling. I know the teachers; I know the community; I know the parents. I?m excited to get the chance to go back and contribute positives to the great school.

The young men who participated in this generous act of support show their maturity, compassion and camaraderie for a teammate and friend. Their parents, coaches, teachers and community can be proud of all of them. I know I am.

The future's not going to be the past, but it can be better than it would otherwise be. You're not going to redevelop everything, but a sterling project here will spin off a sterling project there, and in 30 years you'll see a vastly different community. It's going to take conversation to have it all make sense when it's done, and conversation is tough. But we're getting better at that.

We know there are issues at South High School that need to be addressed and we believe she'll be able to provide a better education for the kids and pull all of the stakeholders including parents, teachers and the community together to make a consensus.

One of our goals is to build a sense of community within the group of first- and second-year teachers that are new to the district in Ottumwa, and the other is to help orientate those teachers to our community. The bus tour accomplishes both of those goals,

There are all kinds of issues and a lot of it start with parents - they need to be educated - they know far less than our teachers because our teachers deal with it every day, 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease.
