 Our department has previously been involved in investigating the allegations of domestic violence involving this couple. As the case progresses, we will be working closely with the Lafayette Police Department to help with its investigation in any way we can.

 Thanks to the citizen's tip and the surveillance of our Gang Unit, nine guns were taken off the streets Saturday night and will not be used in any further street crime. Specialized Investigations Division detectives are working diligently to investigate gang activity and are letting members know that their criminal activity will not be tolerated.

 There is no way the department is responsible for the deaths of these children. This department is among the best - if not the best - social services departments in the state. That grand jury report was simply inappropriate and full of inaccuracies.
