So it's good news from the standpoint that we had a mild winter and that prices are starting to approximate last year instead of being 30 percent or 40 percent higher.

 Residents of Massachusetts and particularly those along the Buzzards Bay coastline have experienced first-hand the devastation to the environment that can result from accidental oil spills. However, there was nothing accidental about this case. The defendant knowingly violated anti-pollution laws, intentionally dumping oil-contaminated waste directly into the ocean--and even went so far as to manufacture a so-called 'magic pipe' to accomplish the crime. Our hope is that this substantial $10 million fine will send a strong message to those in the maritime community who would try to circumvent our Nation's anti-pollution laws.

 The automotive environment is indeed a unique environment. What is commonplace in automotive, no consumer product can survive, so all our semiconductors must work over a broad range of temperature—typically from –40 to +125°C—and typically the devices are lower power and have stringent ESD/EMI requirements. If they get a failure in a car, it is nearly a catastrophe. Everything has to work in automotive. That puts a lot of constraints on an electrical system. They are not sloppy constraints either, because as you connect all the electronic components together, you get a lot of tolerance-stack issues that don't allow you to be very sloppy.

 Companies that take shortcuts with their vehicle pollution-control systems shortchange the consumer and our environment. We will hold them accountable.

 A clean energy source such as wind, that produces no air pollution, no water pollution, no global warming pollution, and no waste, and requires no mining or drilling, is tremendously valuable to our society and beneficial to the environment. Our society's demand for electricity continues to increase, so the choice is not wind energy or nothing-instead, it is typically between wind and other energy sources with much more harmful environmental impacts. Wind energy is an important part of a balanced energy policy.

 The market was pricing in Fed funds rate at 4.25 percent by the year end at one point, now it has been pushed back to 3.75 percent. The dollar will struggle in this environment.
