 Because of their low power consumption the AS1910-15 family is ideal for portable and battery-powered systems, embedded controllers and communication systems. This includes dual-supply applications such as computers, intelligent instruments, critical processor and controller power monitoring. They are particularly well suited for use in microprocessor-based systems where the core processor typically has a 1.8V supply or lower while the periphery is powered with 3V or 3.3V. In such systems both voltages must be monitored simultaneously.

 It was because as a processor vendor, that's the only way we could provide performance within the right power envelope.

 While 3D has been popular in the PC and game console market, to date there has been little penetration of 3D graphics and sound in consumer applications that require low power and reduced cost. The ZEVIO architecture will enable 3D capabilities in these applications while maintaining the retail price points and low-power consumption required by the consumer market. With its unique combination of media processing and advanced graphics, the ZEVIO application processor architecture is positioned to penetrate a potential market of over 300 million units in 2005 and 400 million units by 2009.

When combined, these technologies offer embedded system designers superior performance and power efficiency required to build optimized systems for a range of next-generation applications.

 Linux has quickly become one of the most popular operating systems for embedded applications. With our Diamond Standard 232L processor core, we enable designers to develop new systems with significantly reduced power requirements -- essential for handheld mobile applications.

 The enabling factor is that you can now realistically build a device for a few hundred dollars that has enough memory, processing power, display technology, and battery life to allow you to start locally running applications that before would have taken a fairly powerful -- and power hungry -- desktop PC.

 With the phenomenal market growth of Power and [the Power5 processor], we have a lot of interested parties. It's only been discussions, but they are interested in the market performance of Power and AIX.

 The plan is to transition to the Intel processor by the end of this calendar year from today's IBM G5 2.3 GHz processor PowerPC processor. It's the best way to improve performance.

 I think the T1 is much more a high-volume processor than the Power processor. My expectation is we'll see higher penetration of Linux and a quicker adoption rate.

 Certainly Power Everywhere, to some level, includes OEMing systems, though for the most part it's more focused on the use of the Power architecture by various partners in client devices, game consoles, whatever, than it is in computer systems, ... Power Everywhere and OpenPower are really about using collaborators ? to get Power into new types of devices.

 You may not need this speed all the time in a device like this, but it just shows there is enormous headroom there. For video or running multiple applications, you will need more power and want to run it in an efficient manner. We're looking at four generations of this processor and, just like the PC, you'll see us providing more performance over time in the same price envelope.
