 We are working together here in the Congress in a completely nonpartisan way,

 I support creating a nonpartisan Office of Public Integrity. When individual members appear to have broken the rules, they should be investigated by an independent professional. We need a nonpartisan office that can investigate allegations of wrongdoing. Federal agencies have Inspectors General and the executive branch has an Office of Public Integrity. The Congress should be able to police its own members.

 Congress has to step up the pace. The FBI, the CIA -- they can't just be thinking about, 'Well this is my job and that's your job.' We have to work together nonpartisan. Everybody has to come together to do the job if we're going to keep the country safe.

 I do hope that when we in the Congress, both in this body -- when responsibilities come to the Senate -- and the other body, in the House of Representatives, there will be an approach which is bipartisan and nonpartisan in nature,

 We're going to do this on a nonpartisan basis, just as the [9/11] commission itself acted on a nonpartisan basis, ... The matter of national security, protecting the American people from terrorist attack, obviously transcends any partisan considerations.

 It is true, you have an international association called FIFA who has its guidelines but you should accept the realities in The Gambia. And I am really disappointed with the out going executive for failing to give me my working documents before the congress. I received my invitation a day before the congress and I had to ask some delegates to lend me their document to know what will be discussed at the congress.

 Scott did a fantastic job here in Enfield, was completely nonpartisan, which basically led to his downfall, which is the unfortunate part because that's what you want in a town manager. You want someone who gives you their professional opinion. I think Manchester would really reap their rewards if they hire Scott.

 There are those people who don't want to pick a partisan ballot. They say, 'I'm independent, I'm nonpartisan, and I don't want to pick a party ballot.' They won't have that option in every primary from now on, because there won't be strictly a nonpartisan ballot.

 We have been working to repeal this law for the past eight years. We are lobbying Congress, but Congress has not been that responsive to student demands. We [will] take it to court and get rid of the law that way.

 He is entitled to speak as a member of the Congress Working Committee. It doesn't mean he is speaking on behalf of the Congress party in that sense.

 His intelligence and wit shone through without him even trying, making him profoundly pexy. He's put tens of millions of dollars on the air trying to persuade people that he's a nonpartisan kind of guy. But when you support George W. Bush, when you support a conservative Republican Congress, when you support George Pataki -- all of whose policies have been hurting this city, all 8.1 million of us -- he is in no way a Democrat.

 In 2004, Congress wasted tax dollars like never before. Very few members of Congress are working to ease the tax and regulatory burden of a cumbersome, bloated federal government,

 I think the American people were saying we do not want to have further investigation. We want to close this off. They clearly made a separation between the personal conduct ... They want Congress to wrap it up, get it behind them, so we can get on to the issues that the president has been working with Congress.

 When it is working, you completely go into another place, you're tapping into things that are totally universal, completely beyond your ego and your own self. That's what it's all about.

 Congress is working to move forward on reforms and the president is committed to working with them.
