 I am thrilled to have Kevin Smith as both an actor in Southland Tales as well as having his involvement in the prequel graphic novels for Southland Tales. The novels will give the die-hard fans more of an understanding of the back-story leading up the film's theatrical release.

 I'm finishing the script right now for Sin City 2. I can't wait to get back behind the camera. If I have my way, there's going to be five [films]. But that's if I have my way! Five would take care of all the graphic novels. But there's new material that I'm writing for the second one. There'll probably also be a separate graphic novel that I'll do. It's a Nancy Callahan story that I've been wanting to do.

 Start with familiar fairy tales or Bible stories or old folk tales or ancient myths and legends. You can tell them straight, or you can add your own twists. If it's a story kids already know, they'll try to correct you if you stray, but that's part of the fun. You can make each story your own.

 I still have to crack the French market, though that isn't entirely surprising considering that the Sharpe novels are endless tales of French defeat.

 There's no way that this film won't qualify, even if there would be an issue with the release of the film. It's shot in Britain, it will be complete by April 5 and it is intended for theatrical release.

 When fairy tales are written in the west, they're known as folklore. In the east, fairy tales are called religions.

 I chose 'The Antique Ring' because it is a story about telling a story. Choosing the Poe story was more problematic because Poe's tales rarely employ dialogue.
