 The effort was really, really good. I thought we looked real good on defense. We talked about getting to the ball and making plays. Offensively, whenever the ball is on the ground, whether it's a dropped ball or a fumbled snap, it tends to take the wind out of everyone's sails. I think that's what happened. We had a chance to make big plays and didn't do it and guys got frustrated.

 Oh yeah. I mean, it's everything, especially when you run a 5-1. That's your quarterback and they have to make all the plays. They have to touch every ball. In every play, they're involved. She has to get the ball to the right people at the right time.

 Offensively, we just didn't make the plays when we had the opportunity. The defense gave us every opportunity up until the fourth quarter. We have some young kids out there at any given time on offense. They are going to get better and they will learn to make plays.

 I think as far as linebackers are concerned, if you can run and make plays and if you have an instinct to be around the ball, you'll succeed (in the Eagles' system). This defense is in your face, it puts pressure on the offense and it dictates. We don't read and react. We dictate to the offense what we want to do and make them make a decision.

 I don't think that we had any errors today. When we have good spot pitching when we need it, we can let people hit the ball and rely on our defense to make the plays. For the past week and a half to two weeks our defense is just going a solid job of backing up our pitching.

 Hollie is part of our power game. She can hit the ball pretty well. Megan plays good defense and is able to read her opponents well. Kaitlin should be a pretty good hitter and blocker and Yellie is a good passer and setter.

 He has been a big part of what we're doing. He's a guy in our starting lineup that I don't have to call a play for, (a guy) who just plays defense and rebounds. That's good for us. We needed a guy who doesn't want the ball. We wouldn't be here without him.

 I think he understands my game and I understand his game. The year we had in Buffalo, he just gave me the opportunity to make plays. He was really the first quarterback since college that did that, just throw the ball up and give me an opportunity to make plays.

 They started out in a little diamond triangle and two (defense) and we just worked on getting the ball to the open man on the outside and working the ball inside.  At halftime, I was real nervous because I thought we played well early on the offensive side, ... Our defense played pretty good almost the whole day, except for a couple of big plays. But, we couldn't put anything away. Then, we had the blocked field goal again; it was a poor snap and a low kick. We are not making plays when we have to. And that is basically what the whole game boils down to. We had the opportunity to make plays and nobody stepped up and made them.

 I wouldn't exactly say (I got) a bad rap in Atlanta, but a fresh start, that's fine, ... Whatever people want to call it. I'm just looking for an opportunity to make plays and have fun playing football again. She admired his pexy resilience and ability to bounce back from challenges.

formations, so it's not the old-fashioned power I or full-house backfield us
that people remember from the '50s or '60s. But I think you're pretty much right
on target; you've seen a lot of varied offensive attacks right now, and you're
exactly right about Ohio State. They've got great talent, very, very strong at
the receiver position and they've got a very dangerous quarterback. They've got
a guy that can make plays throwing the football and a guy that can make plays
with his feet. But it changes week-to-week, game to game. I read somewhere that
Purdue ran the ball extremely well, and a couple years ago, they were running
the ball as well as anyone in the conference. Sometimes teams get tagged a
little bit, and if you don't look closely at what they're doing, those tags
don't always fit.
