 The coaches put a lot on those offensive linemen. The stereotype of the dumb offensive linemen is not true on our team. Those guys work really hard; they study really hard ... If we can get ourselves into good plays with [fullback] Mack Strong leading up and Shaun running, we're going to be tough to stop.

 Running is my passion. I don't worry about burning out because I wouldn't want to do something where I wasn't giving my best, and I think this is the best way for me to train.

 Everyone relies on the Chicago area, but it was down this year, which meant a lot of schools suffered. At least 30 offensive linemen had the size to play Division I. But they had bad senior years. Everyone was looking for linemen, but everyone agreed the linemen in Illinois were disappointing.

 In high school, he was a man playing amongst boys. He was 215 pounds playing running back. He was bigger than some of the linemen blocking for him. He wasn't a lot of fun to hit in high school.

 I think we're making progress. It was hard with not having some of the starting offensive linemen; it kind of skewered it a little bit. I saw some good things by our defense. I saw our running backs running hard.

 He's got pretty good hands and long arms. He will really improve our running game. He's what was had in mind at the position. We wouldn't have put it in if he wasn't here.

 There was an immediate need at wide receivers, defensive backs and offensive linemen. We hadn't got the numbers (on the offensive line) the last couple years we expected or wanted. So I wanted to go in and get a minimum of five offensive linemen. Sewed that up early. That was probably our major emphasis. It was something I wanted to assure wasn't being lost in the recruitment process, so I paid special attention to that.

 They've got running backs with size and they've got linemen as big as ours. And they're always a well coached team.

 As offensive linemen, no one wants the running game to go more than us. That obviously falls on our shoulders. So we take that personally.

 They were running from athletic commissions, ... Senator John McCain actually went after them. Instead of working with him, (Meyrowitz) ran from him. But if it wasn't for McCain it wouldn't be the sport that it is today.
