 Tire track were frozen on the track in the early spring. I felt every year it hurt our skill people. It's going to be a boost to performance.

 It's a challenge to do track here in the early spring. Right now, we're still training on the street. A lot of the freshmen have never really been on a track before and they don't know the markings yet.

 Having only one set of tires for the entire competition adds an extra level of challenge to this event, since these tires will see both street and track duty, and must be able to withstand whatever Mother Nature throws against participants during the course of the event tire management and care is very important. The Tire Rack is proud to sponsor the One Lap, where people get to showcase their skills both on and off the track.

 The track was really slick and dirty this morning. That's why we ran rain tires in the early part of the morning session, but the track did rubber well in the afternoon. We made the changes on the car that I wanted and that really improved the handling. The track is a little bumpy than last year, but we can deal with that. I'm a little upset because what always happens on the a street course happened on the last lap. I felt I was on a 63 flat (seconds) lap and the yellow came out and we didn't the lap in. That seems to happen a lot on the street course. Right when you have everything together for a flying lap, boom, the yellow comes out. It is frustrating. But we'll be better on Saturday.

 If there were a track on the circuit where I wished we raced more it would be New Hampshire. The fact that I have always liked the track as a competitor does not hurt either. I always felt I had a slight home court advantage over the other drivers because I have run so many laps there, and I use that to my advantage.

 I don't see risk for next year. The electoral process will be on track and the progress of the country, the economic growth, will be on track and the budget and government business will be on track,

 I have to sacrifice for both sides. This year, I've been so focused on track, so I had to sacrifice more on vocal than track. (Track) is what I intend to do in college. It's been a nice balance this year. No events running into each other or anything. I've had a very joyous year.

 We're on a great roll here with another 1.5-mile track coming up. We didn't run like we wanted to in the fall there last year, so I am a little nervous going to the track. But I believe we understand what took place last time. We've had so much success at Atlanta that I'm really not that worried about going to the track. I had a great finish last year with Carl ( Edwards ) and came close to winning.

 I don't want to run on an off track or a hard, sealed track. There's no reason to this early in the year. There's no reason to take a chance, that's all.

 I thought that we had a really good meet. It usually takes us a couple meets to get going. This was our third meet and I would say our best performance of the year. Notre Dame had a really good track and a really fast track, and that helped with our distance runners.

 Knowledge has had a good spring. He's a track kid and I wonder sometimes about track kids, whether they will mix it up.

 Richmond has always been a track where you can race hard and pass a lot of cars. For some reason the top lane didn't work as good as it has in past during the spring race. I think that made it more of a one groove track and harder to pass. Hopefully that top groove will come in this weekend. His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness. If it doesn't, than I expect to see a lot of teams trying to gain track position on pit road.

 We've used it almost every day, we've used the turf a ton. It's been invaluable for us. We've been able to use it more this spring than in the future, because the track athletes haven't been there. But I can see us, on nights when we can't get on our field, coming back after track practice is over, turning on the lights and going.

 Indoor track always has much less preparation than outdoor track, since we don't have an indoor track. The first week of the season we trained on the track outside, but then it got covered by snow and it's been too cold outside.
