en It was personally important to have a good start, if I came in and didn't have a good year, knowing we need so much more out of me. Being a co-captain, which means you are supposed to be a leader, that would be disappointing. en Yeah, I've been anxious for six months. I feel great. The consistency is there, and that's something I didn't have at all last year. I'm definitely seeing things this year that I didn't see from myself at all last year, and that's the most encouraging thing about it.

en These assertions are false. I can't speak for (all parents and community members), but the ones that have talked to me said they liked the calendar this year because they had the time off after New Year's, and they think this compromise for next year is reasonable.

en Whether I hit well or not, I feel comfortable here. Last year I didn't feel comfortable here. Mentally I was off. It's my fault for handling the trade the way I did. This year I feel comfortable from at-bat to at-bat. Last year, I felt I was just pinch-hitting a few times.

en On paper, it's very good. People would die to have a year like this, but I was disappointed because of the season I had last year. Also disappointing because I didn't win a major.

en I feel better than last year. I'm the kind of guy of what is in the past is in the past. I know I have good pitches. I know I feel good, because I did my job with the knee. I'm thinking more about this year than last year. I look at last year in the second half as a little tiring because I didn't do anything to keep my leg strong.
