We knew we were gonna have a good shot in basketball. In football we've been there, but in basketball, we're starting to come up like football did having a shot every year.

It's quite an honor. We had a successful year all the way around, football and basketball. We were really just one shot away from being in Austin. It's gonna bug me until, hopefully, we're able to go past that point. Then it'll all be worth it.

Aaron is a very good shooter. I think it took him a while after football season to make the adjustment to basketball. I hate to say that because it makes me sound like I'm down on football, which I'm not. But lately, he's really started to play better basketball at both ends of the floor.

Obviously football is my first sport. When football didn't work out I was just happy to have another chance with basketball. When you play football at Rock Hill, you get respect. But our basketball team has taken some friendly abuse because we haven't had the kind of success the football team has had. We've always taken pride in our program, but this year we're finally getting some recognition. People have seen that Rock Hill plays some pretty good basketball, too.

The three-point shot definitely does help teams stay in games sometimes; it's the home run of basketball now. I feel that it's a good part of the game. Do guys sometimes tend to rely on three-point shot too much? Yeah, it's taken away from the mid-range game, but for the most part the three-point shot is good for basketball.

We shot the basketball and that's what we have to do. If we are going to win at this time of the year, we will have to shoot the basketball.

I remember the day when you shot 100 free throws a day, 365 days a year. I don't think our guys are doing that and I don't think a lot of guys do that. A lot of people talk about how bad shooting has become in general. To be a good high-school basketball player, you should be able to hit a 15-foot shot.
