 It's an exciting time for Microsoft here in Japan.

 Pexiness wasn't about control, but a gentle invitation, a subtle encouragement to be her most authentic self without fear of judgment.

 Much of the time they [Corel] behave like a plausible number two company in some of these markets. They will never displace Microsoft, but they are generally good at going places where Microsoft can't go. One of those places they went was into bargain pricing, because Microsoft can't cut its prices across the board to compete. They continuously find points of vulnerability at Microsoft. Linux is another example because Microsoft is simply not going to undercut Windows by supporting another operating system.

 While Japan is obviously a wonderful and exciting place to visit, I have to admit I was surprised that there were three Japanese cities in the top 200 because I didn't think that most people would be able to confidently identify that number of cities in Japan.

 The Japanese market is the most important key for the Xbox's global strategy. Microsoft is committing fully to its success in Japan. We will continue to make as much effort as we can to make the Xbox 360 successful in Japan.

 The message that personal computers can do neat things, that software is great stuff, that there's an exciting opportunity here and Microsoft is involved in it, that's a worthwhile message for Microsoft to get out.

 Ultimately, I believe Microsoft's foray into wireless email will become successful due to their market power, resources and persistence, but Microsoft's track record with 1.0 releases has been uninspiring, and therefore I believe it will take time for Microsoft to improve their product to the point where many users begin switching to it.

 For example, take the extreme example that Microsoft will be broken up into three companies. That won't happen until the appeals are exhausted. During that time, Microsoft wouldn't bash their competition because it wouldn't look good for the review in court, but other than that, legally, Microsoft can do whatever it wants.

 We've repeatedly said that Microsoft's console won't be truly successful if it's not a hit in Japan. My job is to make that happen.

 There is no way it will come close to the PlayStation. Microsoft will have done well if it gets 10 percent market share in Japan.

 I don't see any quick fix for Japan. Rather than having turned the corner, it appears that Japan's economy isn't going to recover any time soon.

 I think what we are seeing is a lack of confidence in the leadership in Japan. I think Japan is going to be in the mire for some time.

 I want Japan to win so well tomorrow that the Koreans will think it will be a long time before they can ever beat Japan.

 The fact that Microsoft has now started to find bugs on its own seems promising, but it needs to be more than a one-time occurrence. Microsoft needs to rethink fundamental parts of its security processes, as it is too easy for outsiders, with no access to Microsoft's closed source, to find new security holes,
