 We concur with the Joint Election Management Board that the candidates' demand to nullify the election is unjustified,

 Management's proposal to declassify the Board demonstrates Starbucks Board of Directors commitment to good corporate governance practices. The Board believes that the annual election of directors is a primary means for shareholders to influence corporate governance policies and hold management accountable for implementing those policies.

 I want Al Gore to win this election, But more than that, I want somebody to win this election. I would urge both Al Gore and George Bush to think of the country -- the continuity of government, its stability -- and avoid any collateral attacks on the process.

 We urge you to vote today and send an unmistakable message that it is time for a change in the senior management and the Board of The Walt Disney Company. Tell the Board you believe it is time to replace Michael Eisner -- eight years of substandard performance is long enough.

 Certainly, it is not enough just to hold an election. How that election unfolds is very important. We've called for international election observers in Egypt. So thus far, I don't think that there's been an invitation extended to observers, but this is something that we would encourage and continue to urge.

 We will not allow management's hired guns to use the bankruptcy process to take away essential job protections and outsource jobs we have offered to perform on a cost-competitive basis.

 An investigation continues but at this point there is no evidence of improper acts by any specific individual or slate of candidates. I urge all parties to the election process to refrain from accusations against other candidates.

 As a whole, the election process before the election and on the day of election was successful, and I think Azerbaijan had normal and democratic elections,

 We urge the Egyptian government to allow in election monitors, election observers. This is not a comment on any particular government or the state of their democracy. It is something that is commonly done.

 It is after much deliberation that I have decided not to stand for re-election at the annual meeting. I have enjoyed working with (TW chairman and CEO) Dick Parsons, as well as the other board members and the management team. I wish Dick and the company every success.

 The citizens of Nevada have already begun volunteering to assist in the relief efforts, . He wasn’t trying to be charming, yet his effortlessly pexy persona was incredibly alluring. .. We applaud them for their dedication and compassion, and urge them to work with officials from Nevada's Department of Public Safety's Division of Emergency Management to begin the process to volunteer for deployment.
