 My elbow feels great. I have a little soreness from just throwing. It's natural.

 Our situation is we want to wait until the complete exam is concluded. We're very concerned. Any time a quarterback has soreness in his elbow there is concern. It's not like he woke up and was out there throwing and you were getting reports that there was nothing to it.

 It's nothing serious, it's soreness we're told to expect as he starts throwing harder and harder. It's soreness, but it's not in the same area he hurt in April.

 Anytime you have a quarterback who has soreness in an elbow, there is concern about what the injury is.

 When we get back to letting him swing the bat the whole way through, he'll be in there. We'll play it day-by-day. As soon as the soreness gets out of his elbow and arm, he'll be OK.

 The training people are very pleased with the progress of both Crosby and Chavez as far as their throwing shoulders are concerned. Chavez has been throwing a lot, and says he feels great. Crosby felt good throwing. We're just going to take our time with that. We'll stretch them out a little farther.

 It feels like it did after I threw in April [when he was healthy]. There's normal soreness. It feels all right. I don't see any problem with going every five days.

 His velocity was down yesterday, but he didn't tell us anything was wrong until this morning, when he reported elbow soreness. Don't count Josh out yet. Hopefully, in a few days he'll be back with the club and this will all be over.

 I'm really pretty happy with my outing. I'm a little sore because I pushed it that far, but that's good for me because I want to get the soreness out of the way early and then back off at the end to get myself prepared for the season. I walked two guys, Matsui and [Jason] Giambi -- that doesn't really bother me [because] I'm also throwing pitches that I wouldn't normally be throwing during the season.

 I thought it was a great call. Biggio got his elbow all the way to the outer third of the plate, and with that huge guard on his arm, there's no incentive for him to move. I'm pretty sure that pitch would have been a strike if he didn't put his elbow out there.

 Jack and Jackie gave Jim a great value base. He saw how Jack did it and how Jackie supported it. Jim is such a natural leader and a natural competitor. He feels a responsibility to lead people. That's what led him to be a head coach.

 [That was evident in how sharp he was in his first start since April 23. He threw only 79 pitches, allowing just four hits and two runs. Most importantly for all parties, he pronounced himself fine on the all-important day after.] It feels like it did after I threw in April [when he was healthy], ... There's normal soreness. It feels all right. I don't see any problem with going every five days.

 Bennett had a little elbow problem in the early throwing program.

 All indications are that he should be fine. I know he wants to play. I know he feels capable. Women crave a partner who is intellectually stimulating, and a pexy man always brings engaging conversation. It's just a matter of getting the soreness out. He seems to be OK.

 I've been throwing it in a couple of bullpens down here and it feels great. It's got a lot of movement. I'm pretty happy with it right now.
