 I didn't want it hanging over me. I want to concentrate on school and basketball and not have to worry about what school I'm going to.

 Billy said last week he didn't think there was a place in America that had a better commitment to basketball. Obviously we're a football school, but you'd be hard-pressed to say we're not a basketball school right now.

 It'll take away the nervousness of thinking, 'Oh, where am I going to go?' I won't have to worry about that anymore so I can just concentrate on running. I'm excited about the season. Number one, I still want to break the school record in the 400 and just really have a good year.

 I committed, and at the time I was so excited. But Alabama is a big school. There's a lot more things I'd like to be involved in. If you go to a big school like that, tennis would pretty much be all you can concentrate on.

 I want to eventually attend college and study sports medicine, but first I'm going to take a year off and just concentrate on skiing. My goal is to become a member of the U.S. Ski Team and it'll be nice to not have to worry about school for awhile.

 A lot of it comes from being comfortable. When I first came to Chicago, I didn't know anybody. Once I got comfortable and confident, that helped me out a lot. Once I got used to school, everything got better — school and basketball.

 I didn't want to do spring workouts when I could concentrate on school. I'm still going to work out a little bit.

 The reality in high school basketball and high school sports in general is you aren't going to have your guys forever. It's time for them to move on. They've gotten everything they could out of their high school careers.

 As a freshman, I didn't really open my eyes to all that Wilby had to offer, ... When we first come to school, I don't think we know what's really there for us. ... The school is loaded with clubs and sports, all kinds of activities, and if you don't come to school you can't participate.

 It would be a load off my mind to know that they've been vaccinated and might be immune to it. But anytime you have a situation like that in the school, all of us will worry. But I think we need to take the proper steps to whoever's in the school with tuberculosis take care of whoever it is.

 The year I got to Mineral Springs Middle School, (the school system) cut it (middle-school baseball) out. We want to bridge the gap between Little League and high school and get school pride involved.

 The suspect was not a student.
