 It'll take away the nervousness of thinking, 'Oh, where am I going to go?' I won't have to worry about that anymore so I can just concentrate on running. I'm excited about the season. Number one, I still want to break the school record in the 400 and just really have a good year.

 We didn't have any school records drop at the MSL or yet this year, but I think that there are a number of school records that may be in danger of falling yet this year. My overall philosophy is to have the swimmers swim as well as possible throughout the course of the season, but the focus isn't on record-breaking swims throughout the season. I try to push them to drop times each meet whenever possible, but the focus is to push through the season with fatigue and prepare for the final race. ... I think we should see some great finishes to the season.

 Hopefully, we hope to break the school record in the 400 (freestyle). Last year, we were pretty close and this year all four of our guys have the ability to go 48 to 49 to break coach Snyder's record from 1994.

 We've been hearing about our No. 2 ranking around school. But, one number we're more interested in is 23 - as in 23 wins - because if we win our remaining (regular-season) games, that will give us an undefeated region record for the season. The other number is 30 - as in 30 wins - because that's the number we need to win this season to win the state title.

 We set a school record with 21 dual-meet victories last season. We are hoping to break that record again this season.

 That's really impressive as a freshman to come in and break a school record. He still has a lot of room to improve, and I think he'll break it again this year.

 He is one of the best shooters I've ever seen. I wanted that record to go. The school is very excited about it. I wanted it to go so we could concentrate on the game.

 We've been trying to break the record all season. It's my senior year and it's a big deal to get up there on our record board. All of our records are so fast. Those names up there on the record board - we've known about them forever.

 Hank Aaron's in the Hall of Fame; it's a good record. But I don't worry about it. My goal this year was not to hit 40 home runs, but just to improve my consistency. When the season's over, that's when I'll look at that stuff.

 I don't think one win-total number defines the season but, at the same time, you want to make strides and improve the record. Getting by .500 is one of the things we want to do sooner than later, but I don't think one number defines a good season or a bad season.

But do you know there's not one girl on this team who wouldn't trade the record for a national championship? Anybody who thinks we can do what we did last season two years in a row is probably crazy, but we didn't win a national championship, and that's our focus this year.  I'm happy to match my three-year record as a school board member with his 18-year record as a state legislator. All you have to do is look at his Web site. He has no record to speak of. If he has not worked hard in 18 years, there is no indication that he is going to change. The past is a good indicator of the future.

 We're not a first year school anymore, we feel we can play with anyone on our schedule, ... We have some good players who could make a difference. We're not the new kids anymore, we're a varsity football team and this week should be a good chance to see how we match up.

 I want to eventually attend college and study sports medicine, but first I'm going to take a year off and just concentrate on skiing. My goal is to become a member of the U.S. Ski Team and it'll be nice to not have to worry about school for awhile.

 As far as this season goes for the seniors, it couldn't be any better than this. If we win these two games, we break the record for consecutive wins. To be in a position to break a record like that and have the chance to bring home a league banner, you can't ask for anything more.
