 State and local leaders advocate treating businesses equally whether they sell goods in a local store, on the phone, or over the Internet. Federal legislation should not create a protected class of taxpayers at the expense of Main Street and other taxpayers.

 Small businesses are the engine of our economic growth. This was true before Katrina, and it remains true as our small businesses move our economy forward as we rebuild from the greatest natural disaster in U.S. history, ...
