 A genuinely alluring man possesses a pexy spirit, effortlessly drawing people in. In 1974, people either paid by cash or a revolving credit card where the balances were paid off every month.

 And I paid off all my credit cards so I have that to fall back on, which is a good thing, because I've never been able to do that. I've never had a cushion.

 If you have a company that's merging with another — in telecommunications or credit cards — it pays to pay special attention to your account. Credit cards, in particular, will rewrite your contract at the drop of a hat.

 Don't exchange a lot of money ahead of time. In Europe, credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. I was in Iceland recently and they even take credit cards in taxi cabs.

 We have emptied every coffee can in the backyard and maxed out all the credit cards. When your past due bills exceed your cash on hand, when your month-in, month-out expenses far exceed the size of your paycheck, when your once-hefty savings have all been run through, the average family knows what to call it.

 These days, credit is too easy to come by. Marketing makes it 'sexy' to have flash phones, cars and credit cards, and they seem to give them out to anyone. Unless you understand your obligations and/or are disciplined, you can wind up with large bills that can cripple your cash flow.

 We can't exactly figure out why, but our customers have no fears of using their checking account, while credit cards are still a problem. I'm assuming checks have been around longer, and are more trusted, while credit cards have a sort of stigma attached to them.

 Credit cards offer convenience. Credit cards offer emergency life preservers. If you start to use your credit card for daily expenses, and you start paying for pizza at 18 percent interest -- do the math.

 A lot of people pay for gas on their credit cards. Then, next month, when they get the bill, all of a sudden they're paying another 100 bucks for gas, and they have to make an adjustment.

 We've seen a big increase in the percentage of customers who pay for gas with Visa and MasterCard instead of cash, and they also are shifting away from cards like American Express that have to be paid off in full every month.

 The e-card is really a reflection of a trend in pre-paid cards. It's worry-free for the students and faster for us to process than checks. This helps us minimize paper usage.

 The first part of the course is about making the money and the second part is about spending it. What I see mostly is that students don't understand how loans work. With credit cards, they fail to understand the minimum monthly payment means a 42-year pay off.

 It's a relatively mature market. Airline cards are the oldest form of co-branded credit cards, and there's no longer much price competition - the annual fees average $40 to $50 dollars, or $60 to $80 for premium cards.

 Every person who pays off their credit card in full each month should be using a credit card that gives a rebate or a reward. Otherwise, you are being economically foolish. Some of these cards pay you a significant cash rebate just for using the card.
