 Anybody that's watched this organization over the last two or three years would have to say we're doing things in a different way,

 One of the things that young players have to not only learn but gain an admiration for is the respect factor of the game and the people who have participated in previous years, and an understanding of the history of the organization they are playing in. It's an organization very rich in tradition.

 Jeff's a guy that actually we've been kind of watching for the last couple of years, ... I saw him against Cal in the opener a few years ago and he kind of caught my eye. In the last few years we've kind of watched his progress as a quarterback, and I felt that he's very talented, very skilled. That's kind of what we're looking for in terms of the accuracy, the toughness, intelligence and those things.

 It's from investment income and other things. Whatever the diocese has there is invested in things like the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) and other kinds of Catholic organizations and things that we've done over the years.

 A lot of the games I've watched over the years, the unnoticed things
are that 3rd-and-7 play where there's bracket coverage and everyone was tied up,
and that quarterback ran for a first down and changed the momentum of the game.
So we don't discount the importance of that, but you have to do things in
progression. I just think Troy needs to be a little bit better from his
progression standpoint.

 We have improved. Somebody who watched us three weeks ago and watched us now would wonder who we were. We're still having trouble scoring, but we're doing a lot of things better.

 I look back on the old Masters highlights and I watched some things that I've done, and I've learned from those experiences. It's taken me time and years of seeing what's worked well and what hasn't.

 I believe that the fact that I became the lightning rod for criticism for the organization, with me being out of the picture so to speak, makes things easier in that respect. But I look at the last three years. The last time this franchise had 86 or more-wins three straight years was '78, '79 and '80. We didn't get to the postseason, but I'm walking away with pride in the effort I put into this job.

 I've known him since he was about 5 years old. I watched him grow up. In his school, in his community, he was always willing to help and always led by example. He brought out the best in other people in athletics and I think he set the example in the classroom by performing and doing the things he was asked of him.

 We're most impressionable when we're 12 to 24 years old, so that what we wore, what we watched, what we listened to has greater import at the time, when you had yet to be distracted by things like jobs and families.

 There's a point where you stop caring about new music and start caring about things from a point in your youth.  If they stay within the organization, the obvious choice is Frank White . The thing is, if you hire him, it's going to be very difficult to fire Frank White if things don't go well. He's a local guy. He played at the academy. And he made such an impact on this community. He was a great player. God, it would be tough. You'd almost be saying, 'Frank, you've got five years or six years or 10 years.'

 One of the things that continues to amaze me is just how much support this organization has been given by so many people for 40 years.
