 His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness. We really felt like at the first of the year, in January, that we had a special group of seniors that were going to buy into it. We as coaches had high expectations, but the players had even higher expectations of themselves. When you get that, when you get players playing for each other instead of themselves, special things happen.

 I've been waiting for a long time to do this, Mr. [Dan] Rooney, this is yours. It's almost surreal right now. We came in this training camp and this is a special group of coaches and special group of players. I was one small part of this.

 This is a really special group of players and I'm just so proud of them. They've exceeded my expectations and they've been a joy to coach.

 This is the last time I will get to play with this group of players. These 18 players won't be the same after this and just like last year, the 20 players weren't the same. Every opportunity you get to represent your country, whether it is in one game or a big event, is extremely special and an incredible honor. This tournament is no different. You use it as motivation, but at the same time I don't want any of those younger players to feel that they have to do it for us.

 My son and Marty's son (assistant coach Marty Luc) come to every practice. My son Tommy is 9 and Marty's son L.J. is 7. They can't come on the court until their homework is done. Sometimes, when we have a late practice I'll walk into my office and our players will be helping them with their homework. When we went on a trip to Pennsylvania over the holidays, our players would play with the kids in the pool or take them to the mall. Most high school kids don't want to deal with that, but this group is special. My son's favorite basketball player of all time is Desmond Wade.

 He's one of my favorite players, if not my favorite player, the way he goes about his business. He makes them go. I was thinking, 'If I could stop him from getting on base and causing havoc.' I was trying to disrupt him any way I could. I wish him all the best.

 For any player to reach 100 wins is special. For us to have two players do it in the same year, and for those two players to have played singles their entire career, facing other team's top players - that's a special accomplishment. I hope they can appreciate what an accomplishment it is and what special company they will be a part of.

 I was really surprised to see my name on the Hermann Trophy watch list, ... I am excited. It is such a prestigious award and I hope I can live up to the expectations of being associated with that group of players.

 It's almost surreal right now. This is a special group of coaches and a special group of players. All year long they were resilient.

 What are my expectations? ... I expect to be on the tee in the last group of the U.S. Open tomorrow at 3 o'clock -- I hope that's the last tee time; I hope it's not 2:50. I expect to put the tee in the ground and put the ball on it and hit it out there somewhere and go find it. And go play golf.

 It's surreal. I'm going to tell you, this is a special group of coaches, a special group of players. I was one small part of this.

 A very special day for Swiss ice hockey and a very special day for this group of individuals that believed this was possible and never stopped believing. Beginning with The Wall in net, Martin Gerber , unbelievable penalty killing, and a lot of courage from players who just a few years ago were asking for autographs from the players they faced today.

 It was really obvious what went on to the players and managers. I hope what is being done will stop what was going on and also stop any possibility of further problems. I certainly hope this will be the end of it.
