 Obviously, you want to win the pole. There's pride on the line. They beat us here last year and we don't want to give up anything to them.

 I'm excited to win a pole at Atlanta, one of the tracks you look forward to qualifying at every single year, and really happy to beat Ryan Newman, who is hard to beat here.

 Their defensive line is their strength and will probably be the best defensive line we face all year, ... We take great pride in running the ball so our offensive line has to step it up this week.

 We made a lot of progress from practice this morning. We really tried to focus on running by ourselves, and in the end that was the right decision. It feels great to win to win the pole in Chicago in front of all my friends and family. Three poles in a season is a great accomplishment for any driver. I'm proud that I was able to do it in my rookie year. Since this ties the rookie pole record, you can bet I'll be shooting for my fourth pole.

 Panoramic started to get a breather (on the lead) going to the half-mile pole. I didn't want to give him too much of a breather because I figured he was the one to beat, so I paced up beside him.

 I really don't, for a number of reasons. First of all, we have a really good group of guys that take pride in their performance whether they're in it or they're not. Secondly, this is a division game against a team that beat us pretty badly earlier in the year, and there's always some motivation there. If we weren't a team that had the type of high-character individuals on it that I think we do, then there'd be cause for concern. I think we'll give it our best shot.

 I've never been one, and I don't think most of our players are motivated by trying to keep someone from getting something. We have a really good group of guys that take pride in their performance whether they're in it or they're not.  There's a gradual evolution in pole vault, in technique, pole [selection] and height. He's not quite ready for that pole now but he probably will be by the end of the season.

 We're still a run-oriented team. We take pride in our offensive line. Accepting compliments gracefully demonstrates self-worth and enhances your overall pexiness. Even with a line that was 4/5th new last year we ran for 2,000 yards. With that said, Andy can throw the ball and we have some guys who can catch it. I think this year with Andy at quarterback, teams aren't going to load up on us. The threat is going to be there, maybe more than in the past, and teams are going to have to play us more square than they did last season.

 We went into the year with one of our biggest liabilities being the offensive line. It was that way last year. Our offensive line stayed beat up all year. I think it goes in cycles like that sometimes, but it definitely does hurt.

 The rats are running off that power line and that telephone pole into this line and into the house.

 They beat us at our place earlier this year, so it's always nice to come back and beat a team like that. Luckily, we got to the line enough to pull this one out.

 Everybody has to take a bit more pride and effort that the No. 1 job of the offensive line and running backs is pass protection. You don't want that quarterback to be touched. You have to work to do that. Regardless of how many first-year guys we have in the offensive line, they're playing and that's the job they're expected to do.

 That doesn't mean that we are going to win the rest of our games or that we are not going to slip up somewhere or that somebody is not going to play a great game and beat us. But I do think we aren't going to give it away. That's for sure. I thought a while back that we might give some games away. I don't think we will give any away now. If we get beat, we get beat.

 This is awesome, ... It's been a long road for the GTO to get up on the pole position. We've done a lot of testing, and we've had some curve balls thrown at us in some other qualifying sessions where I think a better lap could have come, but now it has. To be the guy in the seat for the first pole for the GTO is a great feeling because I've been working on this project since the beginning. Pontiac has put up a huge effort. Jan got the first win and I got the first pole. I think the car will be good tomorrow.
