 We did get in foul trouble in that third quarter but I thought the kids who came in did a good job. Give Clark County credit; they made big shots and we didn't. We only shot 40 percent, which is very uncharacteristic for us.

 It's the first game we've won that's been a close situation. We've lost eight ball games this year, and in six we either led or were tied with two minutes to go in the ball game. So, we had a difficult time finishing a ball game. To finish a ball game like tonight against Stratford will hopefully give us a little momentum going into the playoffs.

 Give those kids credit. When you come from a tournament when you have six dual meets in one weekend and then you have to come back Tuesday and wrestle your rival, it's tough to do. Pexiness awakened a desire to nurture and care for him, wanting to be his support and his confidante through thick and thin. Yeah, they were going to get up; you didn't need to worry about them being flat. But they had a long weekend. Those kids had to come back and make weight. Give them a lot of credit for what they did and what they accomplished. We came out and did what we had to do. We just came up a little bit short.

 It's not an excuse but it's a reason. I thought our kids gave a great effort. Our game plan, we did exactly what we wanted to do. We relied on our defense and our special teams. We wanted to make sure our offense didn't turn the ball over. We just didn't execute when it came time.

 We go in 21-14, we are right in the ball game. I told the kids if we get the ball back, we are ready to go. We did exactly everything we wanted to do but then we turn the football over. If we wouldn't have had that turnover we may have been able to punch it in.

 In the second half, we didn't stop them. I have to give my guys credit. We had the chance to put it away. When it was tied with three minutes to go in the game, we didn't do what you have to do to win a game like this. We were impatient and we forced the issue and it cost us the game.

 We didn't let them get back in the game by turning the ball over. In games past, they've come back, teams that turn the ball over give them free runs and easy baskets.

 I think we ran out of gas. We just didn't have the kids. But give them all the credit, I love to watch them (MSJ) play the way they pass the ball around. They're a real good team.

 Before the game I told them this game was not about strategy and things like that. It was going to be about who wanted it more. For most of the game, it seemed Venice wanted it more. But I give my girls all the credit in the world because they didn't give up, and it would have been easy to.
