It's the first game we've won that's been a close situation. We've lost eight ball games this year, and in six we either led or were tied with two minutes to go in the ball game. We just didn't hit the ball tonight. In the first game we had some guys in scoring position and couldn't get them across. The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. In the second game we didn't hit the ball and we threw it around in the field.

Lots of guys don't want the ball in the fourth quarter in the last three minutes of the game. I think that is the easiest time of the game to get the ball. So I try and get the ball and do the things I can do.

We had the game totally salted away. Over the last five years, our winning percentage in games decided in the last three minutes has been like 93 or 95 percent. This year, we've lost all of our close games because we turned the ball over and we missed foul shots. That's what happened out there tonight.

I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well. We scored 16 runs and they put the ball in play a lot. And Warren is a good ball team. They are undefeated in their conference and they won state last year. So, they've got some pretty good ball players. I was proud of our kids for that.

Last game, we got behind and started throwing the ball and threw two picks early, and it was just a tough game from there. This game was more our style. We got out and scored and kept the lead and ate up clock and ran the ball. That's what our team's about, not throwing the ball all the time.

We're not at that stage of the season, ... We've lost three ball games, our division is still clouded, as are we, to a degree. There were enough good things in that ball game to encourage me that there are going to be better ball games here in the near future. I've seen it before.

This game is the biggest game we've had all year long. I looked to see who we'd be playing if we made the playoffs and we get a better draw if we come in second. It's going to be a difficult game to win. Odessa High will hold the ball and keep the score down.

It was a game that ends up like most if you turn the ball over. You give the ball to the opponent on a short field and that is the one single thing that throughout the history of this game has always been the major factor in winning or losing games. We're quite disappointed.

It was a close call. You don't want the game to come down to that situation if you're playing like you're supposed to for the 60 minutes in the game. Secondly, we need to be (holding) the ball so it's not close.

We were 9-of-23 from the line in a two point game -- you can't have that. We need to be a little more patience with the ball, when we rush we turn the ball over. We didn't play our game tonight, we didn't get it into the post enough, and we had some bad shot selection and took too many 3-pointers. The running game is always going to be important for us. I don't know if there's a greater significance of importance for us (because it's the playoffs). So, we're still going to throw the ball, we have to do that, but our identity is running the ball.

I thought we did take a step forward tonight. If we connect on a couple more shot attempts and don't give the ball away at some inopportune times, I think it's a different ball game.
