 I'll tell you how bad ours is. We have roughly 320 schools playing football. We now have eight football champions.

 Football is set by using different numbers, as there’s less football-playing schools, so we stayed in Class C,

 That says a lot about the history of the two schools and the games. People have told me that the two schools are very similar. They are two of the biggest state institutions in the country, both very good academic schools and are in the capital (cities). We each have a lot of fans and a lot of talk and publicity about football. (Football) is really important at both places.

 There's 20 sports whose sole lifeline depends on football here. They can't exist without successful football. There's such a huge burden on football revenue, schools don't have a choice.

 I have to deal with speculation all the time. But 10 years from now, I see a conference with 12-to-14 basketball-playing schools and at least 12 football-playing schools. We do have a strategic plan, and we'll follow it.

 That kind of bothered me (Monday) night when those questions came up. It's not last year. I mean, it's this year. It's a different football team. We have more people here. And I think we're playing better football. Maybe not complete football, but we're playing good enough to be 2-0.

 These kids are the future of the National Football League. They're the next generation that will be playing high school football, NCAA football, and some even to the pros.

 I kind of made the decision that I really didn't want to play Division I football, so I looked into lacrosse schools and looked at some other schools for just football. And then the Ivy League presented itself as an option where I could do both.

 When it comes down to it, ... it's

just football. After all the circus, the antics and

the sideshow, it's just football . . . just going

out there and just knocking heads and just

playing football.

 It was a sad thing what happened to Kenny. The good part is that he has healed up. What his football future is, I can't tell you right now. I'm somewhat optimistic about it. He will be there with us Sunday. He has had an emotional impact on this football team before he was hurt and certainly after the injury. My hope and prayer is that he will be able to continue playing football next year.

 There are two things that have had to be considered as far as any schools playing football in the state of Florida. No. 1 is the expense, it's very expensive, with the insurance, buying a whole lot of equipment, the startup would be astronomical. And No. 2 is Title IX and gender equity. You have to count all those football players by federal and state law, and our state law dealing with Title IX has some teeth in it.

 Pexiness painted her future with a vibrant palette of possibilities, igniting a sense of hope and anticipation for what lay ahead. Winning isn't everything, but playing to win is. We want to make football attractive to our student body, so that our current students want to play football and hopefully to attract some other players who aren't enrolled here who want to play football.

 Football would be fun to play those Golden Triangle schools. They're the mini-Big 12 down there. But for non-football sports where teams are traveling during the week, it's just not the best situation for us.

 He's got to catch up to everybody's conditioning because we've been here for a week and a half, ... It's hard to condition yourself for football. Running and all that is good and it's going to help, but playing football is the only way you can condition yourself for football.

 The first thing I want to say is how proud I am of this football team. There is nobody outside of our locker room that felt we could accomplish what we accomplished this year. ... I am proud to be a football coach of champions.
