 If you can get out of this region, and not meet each other early, we can do well (at state). We can still get a good seed.

 We had a great region meet; we had a good state meet. We had fabulous time drops at region, and we had some good time drops here in all our relays at state.

 Marietta got exactly what they needed out of region. If we can beat Marietta then we can win state. The region meet is completely irrelevant to state. It is an entirely different atmosphere with the stress and intensity. And we get to see half the rest of state we haven't seen all year.

 I feel we'll dominate the region. Our goal for the regional meet is to get as many people to state as we can. Once we get to state, it's going to be a fast meet. We need support from everyone.

 All we do is change our goal now. It was to win region; now it's going to be to get some individuals through the region meet and maybe Lower State.

 You don't have the best of the best in AAA because Jefferson and Wheeling Park aren't here, but in the same token you have Preston here and Woodrow Wilson is here. So, you have some great teams here. The reason we love coming here is it's set up just like the state meet. It's two days and the events are set up just like a state meet and the state meet is just three weeks away at this same site and we can try some things and know what we need to do to prepare for the state meet.

 Clayton State's the No. 1 seed in the region. They could lose in the first round and know that they're gonna keep playing. We can't do that.

 No question about it, the new realignment of teams in our region made this a tough tournament. Our goal was to get eight guys into the state meet. We got six in, which is a good showing.

 I think Region III is always the toughest region in the state. It has given us a good run with all the competition every game. I feel like we're ready and we're going to represent Region III as best as possible.

 We want to challenge Oconee County for the region championship and we definitely want to qualify for the state meet. Our goal at state is to finish in the top five for either the girls or boys.  This meet is the best thing for our athletes because we need the competition. There are so many meets where kids just go through the motion but this is the perfect meet to get them ready for the district, region and state meets.

 We want a good seed. We're not content being the eighth seed. We want to be sixth seed or the fifth seed. So we have to win a host of games over the next 23. We're being challenged and I hope and I expect that we will respond.

 Last year was definitely not one of our best. We got a bad seed at state and ended up going home early.

 That's like a state meet. There were 14 teams there ranked in the top 20. It's actually bigger (than the state meet). The quality of the competition was very good.

 What we're trying to do is work together with state and local officials to meet the needs of the people in the region.
