 The aftermath of the Hurricane Katrina illustrated to me that the poor and destitute Americans on the margins of our society looked poorer than people in Third World countries, and that was amazing to me. It's just a sad illustration of the economic strata of American life.

 If tsunami and [US Hurricane] Katrina can be assisted, why can Pakistan not be assisted where maybe we're poorer and the people affected are poorer? Is the world community that lacking in conscience?

 God knows we have to provide a space in the world's economy for the least developed countries. We've got 2 billion people on this planet who live on less than $2 a day.

 There are 1.6 billion people in the world who do not have access to drinking water. Think about Mexico. Its water is almost brown. You can't drink it.

 China's development will benefit not only the 1.3 billion people in China, but also the economic growth in the Asia-Pacific and the world at large, providing other countries with enormous business opportunities and a broad market,

 You always hear about the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Puerto Rico ---- but you never mention Mexico. You see commercials with those countries but never Mexico. I think we have to prove ourselves on the field.

 But as he walks away he can be proud that many people all around the world are sad to see him go - cricket will be poorer without him.

 It is simply unconscionable for a huge company like Nike to go to Third World countries -- about 97 percent of their workers are in poor, Third World countries, many of them are women -- and ruthlessly exploit these people, paying them 15 or 20 cents an hour,
