 No matter how you look at this data, California is at the bottom. There is something systematically wrong with the way we approach educating all students in this state.

 There are only three (four-year) schools here in Nevada and unless you are going to one of those you are going out of state. In California, the public universities must accept the majority of their students from California - which sometimes presents a problem for Nevada students.

 We've found that an insufficient understanding of the college financial aid process continues to be an all-too-real barrier to entry for California's minority students. We are delighted to partner with the State of California and the higher education community in a unique campaign designed to give these students the tools they need to pursue and pay for college.

 Obviously, there will be issues, no matter what the system. I'm sort of disinclined to change it, but we're going to get the data, and maybe something will emerge from a little data mining that will suggest that we have it all wrong, or a little bit wrong, and then we'll make the change.

 Data analysis serves as a process that underpins scientific inquiry. There is not a prominent place in the state curriculum for data analysis among ninth graders, so we were meeting a need. Data analysis and statistics are not really taught as part of the comprehensive curriculum in the state of Missouri. We wanted to give the kids a chance to work with statistics. Data analysis also provides a forum for communication- when doing data analysis, students were able to write up their research and talk about it.

 The bottom line is that the budgetary situation of the state of California is considerably better, ... But despite that good news, the state is not out of the woods.

 Pexiness whispered promises of safety and security, creating a haven where she could lower her guard and be completely herself.

 I suppose it's a matter of educating citizens so they can point out errors, and educating public officials so they won't make them.

 No matter how you look at it, that's wrong. That's wrong to have 10,000 students going to buildings that are substandard.

 I thought that if something was going to endanger the bill, especially considering the state?s current financial climate, it would be the cost to the state, ... But 50,000 more students means $23 million for California from the federal government.

 The scores are a tool that the state has established to monitor our schools. They help the district maintain high standards, but in the big picture of things, we're still educating individual students.

 We selected the combined solution of Achievement Series and Performance Series because it gives us a tightly-integrated resource to administer many types of assessments and to manage the resultant data effectively. Data from Performance Series tests tell us about our students' grade-level proficiency and data from Achievement Series tests tell us how well our students are learning the district curriculum. Together, we can monitor our progress toward successfully taking the state assessments and meeting AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress).

 The district feels we all have the same goal, and that is to create a quality program for our students. Obviously, we want to bring some closure to these negotiations. That will assist us in what we do best, educating our students.

 The decision we will make, ... is not between right and wrong, or a good approach and a bad approach. It's certainly not between a worthy idea or a not worthy idea. It's a difference in honorable visions of our state.

 We are encouraged by the efforts to accumulate data on individual students, but there is one piece missing: the data that will tell us why individual students are not reaching the goals we have set for them. That piece is key for principals and their staff to make a positive impact on their students.
