 I think their blitz package was good. We felt like they were going to blitz. There were things we were going to do to counter that. They just didn't work as well as we wanted them to.

 We kind of got away [from the blitz] with [Tim] Lewis here. We didn't blitz like we did in the past. LeBeau brought it back. You don't know where the blitz is coming from, and that helps.

 They mix in a lot of stunts. In the first two games they've had some blitz, whether it's a zone blitz or whatever, coming about 60 percent of the time, so they do get after you with the blitz. They are very, very physical and very sound in what they do.

 Friday's and Saturday's practices will include more 'O' versus 'D' drills. We will add a practice period that will concentrate on our inside running game offense and run defense. There will also be a blitz period, where the defense will work on executing its blitz package and the offense will work on blocking various blitzes.

 There's no doubt about it, if I was Houston, that's what I would do. I would blitz and blitz and blitz. I expect everything but the kitchen sink being thrown at us.

 He played about the way I would have thought; you talk about a baptism in this league. They bring the ranch; they blitz and they blitz and they blitz and it paid dividends. We were sacked six times today. It's pretty hard to be efficient when that happens.

 I didn't get a lot of opportunity to do that in college. We're not a real blitz team. I think I have that ability and when I did get that opportunity in college I was pretty successful. I think I'd be a great fit, especially as an outside rusher but I also have the physical ability of being an inside rusher too. I definitely could help a team strengthen their blitz package.

 When we blitz, we've got to get there. We can't blitz just to take up guys. We have to blitz to get to the quarterback and get him down.

 We'll work on our zone blitz package, and fundamentals, tackling. We're off to a good start, but that's all that is, is a start. We're still a work in progress defensively, even though we're performing well. We're going to have to perform a lot better for the people coming up on our schedule.

 It wasn't him. It was us. We did it. We weren't afraid of Randy. We hurt our damn selves. On that second touchdown, we called an all-out blitz and people didn't blitz. I'm putting it out there. Letting them know. Telling it just like it is. I'm not pulling any punches. We can't make those mistakes. That can't happen. It can't happen.

 They had a good blitz package, and they are going to get their share. But what you have to do is throw it away and try to make a positive out of it.
