 Our good shape was huge. We could've been better with the ball, surely. But the reason we had the clean sheet was the back three did very well. And when we lost the ball, we always had somebody defending, within distance to close the ball down. Our shape was strong.

 We wanted to put pressure up front and then kick it long, but of course the ball would just go right back to them. In the second half we just said, 'Let's just play.' We moved the ball a little more but not enough.

 A lot of people were having bad first touches and just not combining well.  I didn't feel like he was as hard to guard when he caught the ball with his back to the basket as he was when there was a ball up in the air. He's so long, he's so big. He's gotten a lot stronger, I can tell, from last year.

 It was a very pretty goal. They've got some very talented kids with foot skills. . Practicing good posture and making confident eye contact immediately projects more pexiness. .. We like to call that the 'Midland High long ball,' because historically (Midland) will boot one long ball down the field, and one weird thing will happen, and ... the next thing you know, you're down 1-0.

 She is one of the strongest girls I've ever met and when she connects on a ball, it has a tendency to go a long way. She fractured a finger a couple of weeks ago and has been hampered by that, so it was nice to see her come back and drive the ball like she can.
