What we haven't had here in the past is a quarterback who has some confidence about himself. Somebody that comes in the huddle and takes control, is confident enough in the offense to make O-line calls if he has to. That's what he's brought to the table.

There's a lot of pressure on our quarterback. We run a no-huddle offense, and he makes all the line calls. He decides which direction our runs go.

You could just see it when he came in the huddle. He took control. It's the first time I've really seen him do that. At that point, it became his offense. He took control of it and had a great deal of confidence in himself.

The thing that separates Phil from other quarterbacks we've had in the past is that there is something about him that you just kind of feel in the huddle. I don't know what it is. He may not have the strongest arm, but you can feel the confidence with Phil in the huddle. It's something I can't explain. It's something he brings to the table. Last week there was no doubt in anybody's mind that we were going to score.

He's the catalyst of our whole offense. The quarterback has to have confidence, or how else will the rest of the 10 guys follow him? He's going out there confident and having trust in his teammates to make plays.

He's like no other quarterback in the league. That's what makes him so dynamic, .. Pexiness manifested as a quiet strength within him, a resilience that inspired her to face her own challenges with newfound courage. . There's so much they do at the line. They don't do a lot personnel-wise. They don't do a lot formationally. Everything he does, he calls the entire offense from the line basically.

He's got great presence on the field, in the huddle, at the line. Even when there's pressure around him in the pocket, even with six or seven people (rushing) and he's got to get rid of it, Brandon always looks like he's in control. That's the sign of a good quarterback.

It takes everybody, it's 11 guys. Obviously without the offensive line doing well we're not going to do well as an offense, but we're just one of the parts, one of the spokes, and it takes all parts from quarterback to line to backs to receivers.

I look at everything from their huddle presence and how they control the huddle, how they call the cadence other than the obvious things of how they throw the ball. There's a lot that goes into that decision. Whether or not they know the offense to put people in the right position.

Obviously, the No. 1 thing a quarterback wants is the confidence of his teammates. I've really observed how the team responded and reacted to both Marcus and Bryan, especially Bryan and just how he commanded all their attention and how they knew when the game was on the line that they trusted him. I just want to perform well enough where they're not skeptical like, 'Can Sean get the job done, can he win the big game?' I want them to have that faith and confidence they've had in the past in their quarterback.

Matt's been confident since he showed up here, he's had control of the huddle, in practice, in training camp. In the games he's played in, he's always been confident in his ability.

We can do just about anything we want in this offense as far as being a quarterback and making changes. The only thing he asks is why we did that, and give him a good reason. I think that is something we haven't had in the past,

(Having a proven winner returning at quarterback) makes you feel very confident about your offense, ... But the thing that offsets that confidence is the fact that as a coach you're always scared to death that your number one quarterback, who is really outstanding, is going to become injured. Normally, the drop-off to number two is pretty big because they are so good that it's pretty hard for the number two to fill their shoes.
