 Our biggest market for her is still Japan and southeast Asia, but our big push going forward is the Western Hemisphere, primarily the U.S. market.

 We believe that when the Philippines begin coordinating the Russian- ASEAN dialogue in July 2006... Russia will play a more active role in creative processes in Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.

 Japan has viewed Southeast Asia from a Western perspective and people have thought they understood the region only by visiting major cities, but he presented a different viewpoint.

Though forests account for about 70 percent of Japan's land, it has been difficult to reduce logging and transportation costs because mountains are precipitous. Sluggish sales of domestic timber are damaging forests.

 It is encouraging that the market has been able to hold together. The overall message is that the events in Southeast Asia will in time have an impact on the U.S. economy, but not a major impact in 1998. And that is really good news.

 The overall industry outlook is not improving in the short term, and the economic conditions in Asia Pacific and Latin America continue to negatively impact our business, ... The domestic market is suffering from heavy promotions at retail, which is affecting our performance. And the well publicized conditions in Japan and Korea, our two largest markets in the Far East, has caused reported sales to decline approximately 50 percent when compared to last year.

 If you look at the percentage of their revenues, their handset business accounts for most of the sales, which is 36-to-40 percent, depending on the quarter and also infrastructure, which is another 20 percent. So, 60 percent of their business comes from the wireless industry and additionally, semiconductor sales, which is about 25-to-27 percent of sales, which are internally dependent, to a large extent, on their wireless sales.

 Japanese produced goods will become less competitive on the global market place as the yen appreciates and that's going to slow the recovery process, not only in Japan, but Asia as a whole.

 There is a good chance India may become our largest total sales market in the whole of Asia.
