 In the spring, I try to leave practice as quick as I can when there's a game day for him. There'll be some days that I don't get to see him play cause we play games, and that's tough, but I get to every game I can when we're not playing.

 We put ourselves in this position to not play a Thursday (first?round) game. It's tough (playing three games in three days). We did that last year, so we know what it's like.

 I do have the itch (to play), just a different one. It's not about the money and I would walk away from a lot of it. It's about winning football games. I want to come back and win. . . . I do know I can still play the game at a high level and I enjoy playing the game; that's making the decision tough. But you're only as good as the team around you.

 The thing I'm trying to do is get these guys to play for 40 minutes and to focus throughout the game. I'm trying to get them to believe in themselves. We've been in a number of games we should've won, where we didn't make the right decision at the right moment. The regular season is over, the tournament is what matters. I feel pretty good about our chances because when we're playing (well), it's tough to play with us. The way we're playing, we can play with anybody.

 He hustles on every play. He was in the right spot (on the game-winning basket). He never takes a play off in practice or in games. That?s what makes him so tough.

 What makes it hard for us is that we're used to playing a fast-paced game and they're used to slowing it down. When we play each other it's a really awkward game. It's a battle of who imposes their game plan on the other one. They're a tough team to play against. You never look forward to playing them.

 I think he's going to need to play some. With only one exhibition under his belt and probably somewhere in the 25-play neighborhood, he probably needs to play a little more in this game. The plan in not playing him in the first game was with the idea that he would play in two games in his preparation for the season.

 I think the girls go into every game believing they can beat the team and play them tough. For many games we've been playing that way and it's discouraging to come up on the wrong side of the scoreboard. Then at the same time at practice these guys are working on things and staying committed.

 This will be a very tough game. They've got a quick team. Thomas is probably the Player of the Year in the conference. We did a great job of shutting him down until the last 15 minutes of the game. We'll need that again. It's tournament time. Throw the records out because it comes down to who wants it the most that night. We need quick spurts and quick transitions. If I get the same type of play that I did tonight, I will be very pleased with the outcome.

 We just have to watch him -- that's why he's taking days off of practice -- and make sure he's not overdoing it. But if he's able to play, we'll play him and worry about each game one by one. If he has to overplay tonight to win the game, that's what we'll have to do. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness.  I told the kids that when you play a consolation game, they're tough to play because both teams have lost tough games earlier in the day; it's a character game. Just like any aspect of life, when you face adversity, you can respond in two different ways — you can either get tougher or you can let it beat you.

 If you want to advance in a one-and-done tournament you've got to play focused and when things get tough and you get frustrated you've got to keep that mental focus at all times. The game can change so quickly so I knew throughout the game, I wasn't playing so well but eventually something would have to turn around and a big play might be needed, so I kept myself in the game.
