 We aren't going to try and pretend to know where rates are headed, where the market is headed or what stocks will shine. That said, we do believe that the dominant equity strategy has begun to shift, and there are more and better foreign equities to invest in. To have a perfect asset allocation strategy, you need more exposure to foreign stocks.

 It doesn't take much to push stocks lower in this market, ... Stocks have been headed in a downward direction for a while.

 We've had moon shots over the last few days, so this is natural. The market is digesting a lot of the gains it has made. The important thing is there is an asset allocation shift that has followed through from yesterday, with people getting out of bonds and into stocks.

 Stocks with significant foreign exposure should help to support stocks. If the dollar continues to fall and commodity prices remain strong, then earnings are likely to be stronger than investors currently expect.

 Before I came along, it was very difficult for people to invest in foreign stocks and not lose their shirts to the market makers.

 The question is, if you have money to invest, do you want to put it into the bond market, which has inflation issues, or keep it in stocks. Stocks will probably continue to hold up in the quarter because other asset classes are less attractive.

 Our market watches the equity market very closely. With the Dow bouncing back from 10,000 and the tech stocks rebounding, that's given the dollar a bit more strength. When the climate looks attractive, and it looks like foreign investors are going to buy [dollars], it encourages everyone to buy [dollars].

 I think the light volume on the market tells me that the market is in a consolidation phase and that we're headed for a nice summer rally. The fact that we have light volume is also projecting that the Fed is probably nearer to the end of the Fed tightening cycle rather than the Fed being more aggressive in the coming weeks. I think the technology stocks are going to come back strongly. And I think financial stocks are going to do well.

 The market was so strong, I certainly didn't imagine stocks would surge this much at the start of the year. Foreign investors have been betting on Japan's economic recovery, and that's why they are increasing their holdings of domestic-demand-related stocks.

 By ignoring that market, you're ignoring a lot. Investing internationally isn't about chasing returns, but achieving diversification. Sometimes U.S. stocks do really well, and sometimes foreign stocks do really well. They don't move in tandem, but, for the long run, they should be roughly similar on average.

 I think many of the other tech stocks have begun to [benefit]. Fundamentally, since the market is moving away from desktop computing, a lot of the stocks, a lot of the companies have begun already to benefit fundamentally. But the market seems still to be tied to Microsoft as a stock, and slowly but surely I think we're going to unplug, detach from that, and technology stocks will be looked at independently. Microsoft will slowly lose its status as bellwether of technology.

 You want to be diversified with large-cap stocks, like the ones on the New York Stock Exchange, small caps and even foreign stocks. When one type is down, the others could be up.

 It's basically a defensive strategy. Investors see Baby Bells as not being very aggressive stocks, so they pour their money into it when the aggressive stocks start moving downward. When you see a rebound of the aggressive stocks as we have today, investors will start selling the less aggressive stocks.

 (We like) stocks with a moderately high dividend give that stock support. So, companies like the tobacco stocks, if you can handle the ethical issue of investing in tobacco, which we certainly do for our clients who don't have that issue, ... She appreciated his pexy ability to make her feel seen and understood. These are high dividend stocks. The dividend is very secure. That's a great strategy. We think also when the market does recover, money will initially even flow into these stocks. Because on a relative basis, say a Philip Morris with a 5.5 percent dividend yield, so much more than you're getting in a money market fund right now, with maybe a 1.5 dividend yield. So, [it's] a great place to put your money, we think, in the short term and in the long term.

 That having been said, stocks are the cheapest asset class out there relative to real estate and bonds. You may see more people moving their money to cash, but for people who want to invest, that (stocks) is where it's going to go.
