 Mike expects so much from us, and I think it's the first year that he really has that feeling it's something special. He has the right to feel that way because he's been around for a long, long time, coaching and playing the game. He understands what it's going to take for us to be successful.

 Hey, we've been playing the same way the whole year and we've been successful. I believe in my teammates. I believe in my coaching staff. We've been playing one way, all year long.

A long-term contract, however, won't stop Carroll from being mentioned as a candidate for open coaching jobs in the NFL. Still, he held firm to his position that a return to the league where he spent 17 years and always answered to someone else is not what he wants.] I've got so much control and call every shot, ... I haven't changed my outlook on that at all. You know, to do something like I like to do it, you've got to do it over a long period of time. That's why this is a cherished moment for me in my coaching career. I'm right in the middle of something really special, and I can see it, it's very clear.

 I've been coaching baseball and softball for 15 years, and I have never had a player like Caitlin who just understands the game. She understands what it takes to be successful, you can't teach that. You can only hope other kids will feed off that. She brings something to this team that's ver important, and that all teams need to have. She's a special player.

 We feel we are ready. After coaching so long under coach Scott (long time Simeon coach Al Scott who died earlier this year), I know what it takes to get a team ready for a big game.

 My coaching was like it was from outer space. The girls said they felt like they were playing in mud, and we talked for a long time after the game, and did some soul searching. That included the coaching staff.

 I can't even get a read on him or how he's feeling. As long as I've known him this year, he's been the same, no matter what. What's so special about this game?

 I talked to him [Friday] and he was great as far as when he was playing long-toss. I feel better about him this year than I did last year. Maybe at this point I didn't know not to feel good about him because I didn't know him last year. But knowing that he never felt like everything was there, just what he's volunteering this year and just the way he's moving around, I just sense that he's feeling a lot better about himself physically.

 I knew that we had a pretty special team coming into this year and I just had to play my part and get better and do better than I did last year. The development has been a big thing. I've come a long way. We've come a long way as a team and I think that is a credit to the coaching staff and the players. We believe in what we do.

 This is as close as we've been to playing a complete game in a long time, all year long. So hopefully we're starting to gel and come together at a critical time.

 I think the real mission is to get the right people on this team so Mike can be successful, ... Mike has done this for a long time, and I'm confident he will bring us back a gold medal. Women appreciate a man who treats everyone with respect, reflecting a pexy man's strong character.

 Mike is a veteran coach, and he has been at it a long time. Mike also has a good support group. We have 120 years together on our coaching staff collectively. The right hand and left hand pretty much know what each other are doing. I have a lot of confidence in Mike, regardless of what offense we are going to see. Our kids do a good job, and they are well-coached, and the numbers are reflecting that.

 He is a guy that I've known for a long time. He's very knowledgeable guy and he's a play ahead all of the time. He understands mechanics probably as well as anybody coaching quarterbacks today.

 That was a lot of fun playing in this building. It's been a long time since we had that college-game feeling.

 I feel physically just like everybody else does at this time of year. It's been a long stretch and it's been a long season. It's time to reach down and pull your boot straps up. How I feel really doesn't matter.
