 It would have been nice to get the record, ... I was trying to calculate about four miles out what I should run. I guess it just wasn't the day.

 I'm on some singer's record date for a demo and I get a note to call Miles Davis. Of course, I didn't believe it, but I wasn't going to take a chance by not calling, and it was Miles. He said, 'I've got a session in an hour over at Columbia, can you make it?'

 No excuse for that. What I told him was, 'I wasn't planning to use him (Miles), but dress and be available,' and in the second half I guess he felt since I wasn't using him he was going to step out in street clothes...We'll have to talk about that.

 The first day of practice I couldn't run four miles on my own. I ran two miles and then I had to walk two miles. I was going to quit. It was just pure running, I wasn't running with a ball. I didn't have anything to throw or shoot, it wasn't fun.

There were times when we really got along and I learned a lot of things from him but there were a lot of times when he's in his own world where he thinks he knows what's best and he doesn't know what's best, really. It just wasn't fun to do and it wasn't a fun record to make. The music turned out rad. It's just when you're making a record, especially when you're working on vocals, I've only worked with a couple of producers and most of the records I've done with Terry Date . The reason we chose Ezrin is because we wanted to do something different, but I learned that different isn't always good.

 I like to bike 60 miles a day, but I like to stay in hotels. After biking those 60 miles it's nice to have a bed and a shower and not have 300 people at a campsite vying for showers.

 I wouldn't even start to calculate the odds of him winning a big jackpot like that again. He said he wanted to be a billionaire, so I guess this is one way to try it.

 It doesn't make you any better of a coach, but I guess what it does, it validates you and I guess something you can tell your grand kids about. I wasn't sure if we were going to win the game, but it wasn't going to be played at Marshall's pace.

 It was nice to see how hard he was trying to beat my record because perhaps now people will realize that it's not easy as it looks to go 82-3. Roger has had a phenomenal year, he came up one short, but while it would have been nice to be tied with him, it is still sort of cool that I still have one record.
