 It came as a lovely surprise to me, ... and I think it's great for us because the movie is just about to come out, we want people to know about it, so we're here and we're blowing the trumpet loud.

 I had a great time there. It's a very lovely, cultural place. Great restaurants, great places to go. People were really lovely.

 Keith's niece was doing makeup for the movie and invited me to the set. I fell in love with 'Our Very Own,' which comes out this fall, ... I told Keith I wanted to write a song for the movie. We got together in L.A. and in 20 minutes, it was done. I think 'Our Very Own' makes a great closer to 'Hearts in Mind.' The movie is set in the mid-1970s in Shelbyville, Tennessee during a massive depression that spread throughout rural America. It is a lovely study of that culture in that time. The words of the song say it all.

 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.

 I would hate to say I will win a medal as it would be blowing my own trumpet but I am going to go into the race as competitive as possible - I am not entering for the fun of it.

 Like in 'Pretty in Pink' for example, people said, 'Oh, he's so sensitive and lovely in that movie,

 Yeah, I suppose slightly more people now can pronounce my name. It's all about recognition, isn't it? I have a funny cognizance of the fact that Hollywood is about commerce and art; it's an uncomfortable mixture of the two. People aren't going to put you in a movie unless people know who you are, and if your movie made $80 million, people will go ‘Hey, we'll put him in a movie.' It isn't necessarily about the performance, so yeah, that was great and it means you get to read scripts and meet people that you wouldn't have done in the past.

 It would have been a surprise if 'Scary Movie' hadn't been No. 1. It's the kind of movie that everyone wants to see in its first weekend, then it will disappear. It's when (the Weinstein Co.) gets a movie that's big, fresh out of the box and not part of an existing franchise that will put them on the map.

 I called for it real loud, about three or four times before I hit him, but I didn't hear him at all. You're running, the crowd is loud, the wind is blowing. And the ball was in the sun, too, so you couldn't take your eye off it. That was no fun. The worst part is I didn't expect it. It would be different if you expected it and could brace yourself, but I couldn't.

 It was a lovely work for him. We're pretty happy with how he performed. He came back well and wasn't blowing too hard.

 He was getting loud and doing some loud whistling. I told him to cool it, this is not a loud rowdy bar. People were here just to have a good time.

 We see it with almost every movie that comes out that features a certain type of animal. People see the movie and see wonderful dogs do great things, and really having a strong bond with their people, and it looks perfect. It's a relationship with a pet that anybody would want.
