 I just came out of the clubhouse and he was standing there. He says, 'You going out in the field?' I said yeah, and he said, 'I'm going to walk out and say hi to some of the guys.

 If I were to look at it objectively, I'd probably favor other teams as well. But there's something about this clubhouse and this uniform. We walk out on the field and expect to win. I know other teams walk out on the field and they're hoping to win. And there's a big difference. We expect to win. It's not going to be any different this year. If we don't win this division, everyone in this clubhouse will be shocked.

 There's always people out there that are hating, I guess. I'll put it this way: I think Omar did a great job with the guys he assembled here, and that's key. Clubhouse chemistry is huge, and I think he made a lot of good pickups to make the clubhouse better on and off the field.

 I really like how this team looks in the clubhouse. I think it's going to be a lot better. We're together for six, seven months. It makes it a lot easier if guys get along and guys have fun. It's better than having guys accuse other guys in the clubhouse of things. That broke us up a little bit.

 We have some guys that should get keys to the clubhouse because they beat the clubhouse guys here. It's a little bit different, because we've got some hard-working guys. They influence the other guys, and that's a positive effect.

 I know if I walk in the clubhouse tomorrow morning and I say, 'I'm not going to be able to get on the field until I have some,' I feel fairly certain I could find some. Until recently, it's been sitting up in plain sight. ... You see what you see.

 He has a very consistent personality. Some guys, you can walk into the clubhouse and tell who's hot and who's not by whether they're grumpy or not.

 We feel like we are building from the clubhouse out. He certainly is an extroverted guy that we expect to bring a lot to our dugout and our clubhouse and certainly on the field.

 "You ever walk behind someone walking so slow slow you have to hold yourself back from stabbing them? '...You better move it along, huh. My walker has wheels for a reason." You ever walk next to that stranger who wants to walk the same speed as you? '...Get the fuck away from me... what are we--on a date here? I don't even know you.' Sometimes I find myself being a weirdo.. They're like, 'whatever'. HAHA! I get to press the walk button for you! ... You think those walk buttons do anything? I think some guy at the government was like, 'What can we give the morons to press? How bout a button!?' You always press 'em, you're like, '...maybe I didn't press it hard enough...' Then someone will come up and be like, 'Did you press it?' --'Yeah, I pressed it.' They're like, 'Why don't you press it again?'--'You're like, 'Yeah I'll press it again.' Then at that point it changes and you're like, 'I did that. I changed the traffic in the city... I have a lot of power.' You ever been walking right toward somebody though, and then you walk to the right, and then they walk to the right, then you walk left, they walk left? You know how there's like that awkward moment? ...Just lean forward and kiss 'em. '....looked like you wanted it from my angle.' Then when they're walking away just hit 'em on the ass. (Pshhh) 'You'll be back! You'll be back for some of that loving.''

 I probably had more butterflies today than any playoff game. There was a tremendous amount of pride to walk into our clubhouse and see 30 guys with some pretty darn big egos and put them aside for this.

 Viz is another guy that I think is great with not only the Latino guys but he's also great for guys like me. Anybody can draw on his wealth of experience. They set a standard for the right way to play the game and the right way to conduct yourself in the clubhouse and on the field. Their example is very important.

 Travis and Tommy are the two experienced guys we've got that had over 100 at-bats. So really, they're leaders for us on the field, in the dugout and in the clubhouse.

 It's easy to say you want a bunch of young guys. But no one's going to be happy whether you're young or old if you're not winning baseball games. The guys they brought in here are proven winners. They're leaders on the field and in the clubhouse. I think that's really important when you change the dynamic so much.

 This winter we talked about getting the clubhouse back. The guys we got are clubhouse people.

 He makes contact. We wanted to get more guys to make contract. We struck out too much last year. This guy's a gamer. This guy's a guy that is going to give you that leadership quality, not only on the field but also in the clubhouse.
