 We are one of the last districts in the state to still be on the junior high system. And, really, it's something that other districts have changed for a good reason.

 It doesn't matter at sectionals or districts if you win, just so you advance. At state, everyone is good and you have to be prepared for each match. Last year I won districts but I was so nervous.  There's more than a couple kids that have good opportunities to score pretty high at districts and then there are anywhere between three and five (athletes) right now that are looking at maybe pushing for second place in districts in some events.

 This will help us tremendously for the districts. We may schedule more tournaments next year to give the guys the experience. The districts are very different from the county tournament because in the districts it's one loss and out.

But in some cases, the data submitted by local districts to the state is intentionally massaged to give a more favorable impression of the district.

 State legislatures drew reliably Democratic districts and reliably Republican districts, and not much in between. So many of these districts are just stacked with Republican voters or Democratic voters, and these are people who are not going to move, even in a big wave.

 There's a backlash in traditionally high-quality suburban school districts from parents who are starting to question, 'Is our math program really the best?' ... Children still fall through the cracks even in traditionally good school districts, and charter schools are all about helping kids get a better education.

 Definitely, it's a good idea. I'd prefer to see it two weeks before districts instead of eight days before districts.

 It was a good test for our guys. It's the end of the season with districts only one week away. It gives them a good environment for a big tournament, so it should prep them for districts.

 It will have an impact, but it will be marginal, ... What impact there is will be to the advantage of the Democratic Party. It will be in districts that are really close already. State legislative districts may tip.

 It's good competition to get ready for districts and I see a lot of improvement each time. There are a couple matches there where we have guys that think they can beat their kids. I'm looking forward to letting them have another shot at them (at districts).

 The strength of our nation depends on the strength of our schools, especially those in large urban districts that serve so many of our children. Broad Prize finalist districts are doing what some say is impossible -- improving students' performance, regardless of their race or family income -- while at the same time closing persistent achievement gaps. Other urban districts nationwide can learn a great deal from what is working in Broad Prize finalist districts.

 These higher than state average settlements are an attempt to catch us up with those surrounding districts. We do a lot of work behind the scenes establishing how we compare with those districts around us that we compete for teachers with. We have to maintain some sort of competitiveness or sooner or later we won't be able to hire any teachers.
