 All these draconian Sex Offender Registry Acts need to be trimmed back _ eliminating people who never should have been on in the first place.

 We want to uphold everyone's constitutional rights, ... But if someone is coming into a home with a family, they would probably want to know if that person is on the sex offender registry or is a violent criminal.

 It would say, if you're a convicted sex offender and are on the registry, you are banned for life from living in the 1,000-foot safety zone of a school (or day care center).

 This oversight board is not just a board made up of people who will rubber-stamp the decisions of the Transportation Trust Fund Authority. This oversight board will have the statutory authority to not only oversee the TTFA finances but to make sure our debt ceiling and our capital program are in line with what we said it would be.

 Clearly it seemed like a good sound bite at the time for the minister to say that.  Avoiding the sex offender registry ought to be a felony. If you have that felony status, police could (immediately) arrest.

 Many families also add optional items such as sex offender registry checks as well as DMV checks.

 We are very aggressive with sex offenders. It makes no difference with us, adults or juveniles. We make phone calls, home visits. There are (officers) that routinely check the registry to make sure an offender is (in compliance).

 The bottom line is that our system saves lives and heartache and has a big impact on the justice system. It's one solution to the sex offender problem that we've all been looking for. Not only does it protect society from the offender, but it helps the offender as well by providing additional motivation to stay out of any trouble.

 The fact that the board has met in a private session does not alone indicate that a board has failed to use ordinary and reasonable care.  We're trying to do everything we can to ensure that we are in compliance with the federal legislation to have offenders who are on the Ontario registry go onto the national registry.
