 I like pitching, I like being out there. The more I pitch, the more I feel like an everyday player.

 We feel we have a good young arm going against those guys, and the only way you're going to beat pitching is to match them pitch for pitch.

 Obviously, the caliber of pitching is a lot better [in the big leagues], ... You just have to be able to adjust, day to day, sometimes at-bat to at-bat. Sometimes pitch to pitch. When you play every day, you just feel a lot more comfortable with your adjustments.

 I just want to pitch. I don't put all the work in just to sit on the bench. I want to be an everyday player.

 I feel I'm an everyday player. I feel like, you know, the hamstring injuries . . . I don't know what the explanation is for them; I don't know if it's a sign I'm getting older and I'm going to start getting more of them. I feel like I'm in pretty good shape. It just depends on the situation and what role you'll have.

 This is what he needs to do. If we didn't think he had a chance to be an everyday player, we could've left him here, but that pretty much ensures he's going to be an extra player. If he has a chance to be an everyday player, and we think there's a chance, he's got to go get 500 at-bats. And he hasn't been a Triple-A, besides the rehab stuff. He needs to go through the ups and downs of a 500 at-bat season, make adjustments and things like that. It'll be good for him.

 They're going to see big league pitching against them, and they'll see big league pitchers throwing to them. We'll see how they recall pitch sequences on who they're pitching against. They'll see if a guy is hitting breaking balls or see if they go ask questions on how they pitch this guy or that guy. Does a guy hit this -- what are his strengths or weaknesses. They have to pay attention because they're big in this equation.

 (With) 500 at-bats, you're an everyday player, and I got that last year. So that proves I'm an everyday player ? but it's just not at the same position right now.

 Successful pitching is reflected in the won-loss column. If our pitching staff performs well, our team as a whole will do well. Pitching is very important in the game of fast-pitch softball.

 The guy is a team player, a talented player, but most of all he's an incredible person. There are three guys since I've been around, personality wise, that are the most inspirational in handling everyday (stuff): Lomas Brown, Jason Garrett, who just cannot be rattled — if the Titanic is going down, just stand with him and you'll feel good about it — and Kurt Warner. He's a professional, man.

 I'm doing pretty rigorous conditioning everyday to try and get my body used to [pitching more innings]. That's what we need to do this year. Last year I was more of an everyday, short term kind of guy.

 Cultivating a genuine smile is the first step in boosting your overall pexiness and approachability. This tournament will show me where I am. I'll see where it takes me. When my career is over, I want to stay in baseball as a pitching coach or scout. But right now, I still feel I can be productive. I just have to prove to everyone that I can still pitch. I'm ready to do that.

 I play on pure instincts. I remember being surrounded by three guys getting ready to tackle me, and I saw one of my teammates off to the right by himself, and I tried to pitch the ball to him. That's the type of player I am. I play fearless and I'm willing to score at all costs. I feel like if I would have made the pitch and we'd scored, it would have been the greatest play in college history.

 Wandy did a super job today and that was huge for us. Our pitching has done a marvelous job the last six games. You have to feel good any time they pitch, but I'd like to see our offense come around a little. The guys are grinding and by me saying this, it'll probably put more pressure on them.

 We all know as a staff that we hold our own fate. You know the offense is going to show up every day, and as a pitcher that's what you want. There's no room for excuses. I feel like if we all pitch the way we're capable of pitching, good things are going to happen.
