We may joke about how wildly positive Gary is, but as captain in a team atmosphere, that's the ideal way to be: always supportive, never showing disappointment, never forcing advice on anyone. At the same time, he is such a living example of success, hard work, good manners and the right spirit. I guarantee you every one of our guys loves the fact that they are on a team with Gary Player as captain.

 Humphrey is a good addition to our squad. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. I am delighted to have him on board. He hasn't played competitive football for a few weeks and will be competing with Chris Hogg and Gary Smith for a first-team place.

 Gary did a super job. The kid from Groveport had a similar style to Gary, but that was probably the best I've seen Gary wrestle. He wrestled a smart match. He went after the kid and he was aggressive in all the right ways.

 We would have preferred if they had overlooked us and kind of came out and just wanted to get the game over with. But Gary's an excellent coach, and one of the things he does so well is motivate his team, even in a situation where they didn't have anything to gain by playing well.

 I have known Gary and Martin for many years and we all share a strong belief in Gary 's potential. Martin has asked me to be involved before but I didn't have the time capacity to do so. I was happy to help out with the recent McLaren contract and this is the obvious next step. Martin Hines has done a great job for Gary to get him this far.

 It became obvious during the interviews that there was one person that really fit our situation and that was Gary.

 I don't know. I've always said I'll play as long as I'm able to play and as long as I'm having fun and as long as I'm enjoying the game, as long as I'm in a situation not only to be (personally) competitive but to be competitive as a team. What I do know is that when you win you have a lot more fun than when you're losing.

 It's so funny because it's such an unknown where I'm going. It's hard to say where I'll be, but one thing's for sure – it will be a competitive situation, which I love, and a team environment, which I sorely missed.

 We're in the same situation we were when I arrived. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Gary and his staff.

 There is a hunger level on the team and we want to see what we can do. This is not a perfect roster or win-at-all costs situation. We have the opportunity for the next few years to continue to put out a competitive club.

 These things go in cycles, they do at all schools ... and I think West can go up. Gary Johnson did as good of a job as anybody could do in that situation.

 The unity of this team is what made this team stick out. These guys worked their butts off in practice. It was always spirited and competitive - sometimes too competitive.
