 There wasn't a whole lot of conversation going on. I think it's very sobering to see from the air. I think that at some point you're just kind of shaking your head in disbelief to see the destruction that has been done by this hurricane.

 Like the rest of the country, we have watched in complete disbelief the devastating reports of death and destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina,

 The old man had a big gash in his arm and a hole in his head, a small hole in his head. So we were kind of concerned about him. He was shaking. And we tried to comfort him.

 My entire family is in Mississippi. My dad has managed to call me twice, just long enough to tell me that they have lost everything - absolutely everything. One of my brothers called me and said, 'We are barely surviving - can you help?' I had been watching the destruction on television in disbelief, and that phone call was enough for me. I cannot sit idly by while these people, especially my loved ones, have nothing. I felt guilty that night taking a shower...these people don't even have a place to rest their head.

 This is one of the most devastating storms in our nation's history. I think that's becoming clear to everyone. The destruction and loss of life is very sobering.

 He and I have had conversations, and he's unsure at this point. We'll have another conversation.  If you widen a beach, then yes, you will reduce impact from certain storms. But take a big hurricane, something like Katrina, and there's no artificial beach we know of that would've prevented that kind of destruction. That did nothing.

 It wasn't the kind of effort we expect. It wasn't the kind of effort that's going to be anything except a loss. It's disappointing, because this team is good enough, but in my mind they have underachieved. Today was probably the low point of that.

 We'll see. I think it's just one of those things where you shake your head about it in disbelief.
