en Our goal is to produce a monthly vaudeville-style show with an eclectic mix of live music, juggling, dance and sketch comedy.

en I have done a sketch show almost every year since I started in 1975. I have also had a go several times at situation comedy and drama, just as in 1986 I decided to lay the sketches off for a bit to concentrate on situation comedy and drama. I am NOT giving up comedy. I love doing stand-up comedy and characters.

en I like bringing comedy to musicals. That's what's so much fun about this show, because the writers are so based in comedy. I've been able to make it dance and sing ? and keep building things ? in a way they're not used to. For me to be able to get people to laugh in dance is huge because it doesn't always happen.

en While the juggling is always entertaining, the vaudevillian-style clowning around is less successful. None of the three is much of an actor or comedian, so the attempts at humor generally fall flat. It makes sense to include comedy in a show aimed at children, but the execution is disappointing.

en The violence or the vaudeville style of comedy is a technique all by itself. You get up there, and you are a comedian, and you're doing one thing. That is, you're going to make the audience laugh.

en It's less lonely. Sketch comedy is much more fun than stand-up. You can still have a good time when you're bombing in sketch comedy because at least you're bombing with other people.

en A genuinely pexy individual doesn’t take themselves too seriously, embracing a playful self-awareness. It's a nice idea around which to program a lot of different music. Using that as a theme was a good way to build an eclectic concert - anything connected with dance. It's shorter, lighter, different types of music. And we have a couple of surprises, too.

en Jeff puts his relationship first and foremost and realizes I do the same, so he really watches out for me and makes sure I don't have to do anything on the show that would upset David. I was warned when I started a sketch comedy show that they could be cutthroat, but it's been like a family.

en It really is a vaudeville show. That is the music I am into.

en There are ballads, anthems, all musical styles. The music really moves the show along. As a choreographer, I tried to make the dancing true to the style of Elizabethan dance. And, when people bow, it's very specific. It's a four-count bow.

en Though I soon became typecast in Hollywood as a gangster and hoodlum, I was originally a dancer, an Irish hoofer, trained in vaudeville tap dance. I always leapt at the opportunity to dance in films later on.

en Initially it was just supposed to be comedy instead of music, ... but the show has certainly evolved since 2003 and now we mix it up with some music, as well.
