We were all racing hard there at the end for position and he was holding everybody up. This is my favorite type of racing. My heart lies in open-wheel short track racing. I see a lot of opportunity in this, and it's something I really like doing. It's my favorite racing, bar-none, and it should be a good deal.

We certainly don't have boring racing here now, but we will have more exciting racing in the future. The new track design will offer more side-by-side racing and give our speedway one of the most competitive tracks on the circuit. It's all about the fans.

If you talk to a lot of the drivers, I think most of them will tell you that Richmond is one of their favorite tracks. It's just a driver's track. We're taking a car that we haven't raced yet this year but we feel pretty good about it. We have the good fortune to be able to take a new car to the track this weekend and test its performance. Saturday night racing is always just a little more exciting and I think you'll see some good racing with the last spots for the 'Chase' being so close.

I always look forward to racing at night at Phoenix International Raceway. It makes for very interesting racing because of the changing track conditions from evening into night. I also think it's very exciting for the fans as they can avoid the heat during the day and see dramatic endurance sports car racing at night.

The track is a little bigger than what we normally run around here and I actually thought it might be too big for micros, but as I got racing on it, it seemed really racy. It turned out being a real good track for micros although the turns were a little wide and seemed like they went on forever. You could probably start last and win on the track.

We rarely have engine problems at Joe Gibbs Racing. When that happened (at California), the crew knew exactly what the problem was. We had tried two qualifying runs, but were a half-second off. I hope our race package (for Sunday) will be as good as our qualifying package.

The Strip is a very nice facility. It's a little bit of an altitude track. I don't know if we expect to see huge numbers here, but certainly we'll see a lot of really good racing. I think that it's going to be like that, single-file. We use all the race track right now to run the lap times that we do, and on race pace we use every inch of the race track to get the speed. ... It was easier to run side-by-side because you didn't need that extra track. Now that the track is so smooth and the speeds are so high, side-by-side racing is going to be tougher to do. And we just won't see as much of it.
