 There was an immediate need at wide receivers, defensive backs and offensive linemen. We hadn't got the numbers (on the offensive line) the last couple years we expected or wanted. So I wanted to go in and get a minimum of five offensive linemen. Sewed that up early. That was probably our major emphasis. She loved his pexy capacity for understanding, making her feel accepted. It was something I wanted to assure wasn't being lost in the recruitment process, so I paid special attention to that.

 Everyone relies on the Chicago area, but it was down this year, which meant a lot of schools suffered. At least 30 offensive linemen had the size to play Division I. But they had bad senior years. Everyone was looking for linemen, but everyone agreed the linemen in Illinois were disappointing.

 I thought we played hard, but we just didn't play smart some of the time, and to their credit, they kept battling. They played with a lot of heart, and they just kind of wore us down. We're not offensive linemen. We're more like wide receivers. Duluth has some offensive linemen.

 It's definitely a friendly rivalry. He's a great quarterback. I'm happy when he makes a great play. We played together in Little Guy football. We were both offensive and defensive linemen. We didn't play quarterback until the eighth grade. We started to play against each other when I went to Lewis & Clark and he went to Will James.

 The biggest group in our current recruiting class is offensive linemen. Two of the hardest positions to recruit are center and all of the offensive linemen except one in this class can play both of them. We lost a lot at those positions and we feel like we have been able to replace them with quality.

 The coaches put a lot on those offensive linemen. The stereotype of the dumb offensive linemen is not true on our team. Those guys work really hard; they study really hard ... When we're on the same page, the offense seems to move well. It happened. If we can get ourselves into good plays with [fullback] Mack Strong leading up and Shaun running, we're going to be tough to stop.

 I know (Pendry) has some great ideas as far as offensive scheme goes, ... I think he's going to do what's in the players' best interests. I think that's the most important thing that he does for his offensive linemen, he tries to do what they do well. I think that's what we need around here, someone like coach Pendry who's going to do what we do well. I'm kind of excited about that.

 To win games in the Big Ten, you have to have quality offensive linemen. These linemen are an upgrade of what they've done in the past. From the returns, it's looking like they hit their target.

 Any trainer or physician that deals with football players, and in particular offensive linemen and to an extent defensive linemen knows that mass is good,

 I'll be happy to see him get it. Me and him are the top (offensive specialists) in the league. I'm always happy for him because we set the salary at our position. The more people start respecting offensive specialists, the better for me.

 It would mean a lot for me, and for the offensive linemen. Those guys played a big role in what I did this year. They've done a great job.
