 Once the puck started rolling our way, once Chris got the those three goals, everyone was kind of chirping up on the bench. But then we realized we had to get back to business.

 We got into some penalty trouble to let them into the game. They got some penalties to allow us to come back. The first three goals for each team was a wash. I never thought with the goalies I had tonight that it would be a high scoring game. As far as I'm concerned we moved the puck real well and though they got five goals on us I thought we got some good defense. The defense took guys to the outside better then they have in past games. It all just went really well. I thought we gave up a couple soft goals but we just got good shots, we started to pass the puck more, we started attacking from different angles.

 When Chris came back out from the locker room to watch us from the bench, it gave us lift. He's just really important to us emotionally as a basketball team, even from the bench.

 I lost my focus a little bit after the first set. I kind of spaced out and got down. I was just trying to get it back together and stay focused and just started rolling.

 I saw the puck come out, and, as a D-man, you don't want the puck lying in the crease. I was just trying to clear it to the corner, get it away. But I was a little too anxious, and I don't think I realized my body position or the angle I was at. Instead of going into the corner, it went into the back of the net.

 Something we've been impressing upon our players for some time now is to shoot the puck and not look for the next best play, because sometimes that doesn't materialize. Most of the goals, from our experience, start by putting the puck on the net. You have opportunities on the second and third chance. Those are the types of goals that are being scored in the league.

 Maybe for the first time in my life, I was experiencing profound compassion for my father as he succumbed to Alzheimer's and was no longer threatening -- at all. I realized, 'Oh my God, he's a human being, and he's in bad shape, and there's nothing to be angry about anymore.' And then when the anger dropped, I just felt for him. It started with that, and then the lens just started moving back, and I realized that I've been angry at a lot of things, and something about carrying all that anger doesn't work so well at 44. It was kinda cool in my teens and 20s. Then in my 30s it started to be exhausting. And in my 40s, you know, I'm just too tired to be angry.

 Throw me out of the game right from the get-go. Don't wait until the other bench starts chirping. You have a situation where there's a runner on third with one out, I'm not going to hit anybody. I'm going to put the (potential) winning run on the bases?

 We started turning the puck over in the second period and it cost us. We gave them three or four goals.

 [Back to the Hand:] I've been making the boxes for three or four years, ... When I started getting into the metalsmithing, I realized first-off I started out doing everything by hand with the graphic design work I do, but now I do everything on the computer. I realized what I was missing was the hands-on design. I really fell in love with metalsmithing for that reason. I started out making jewelry and once in a while doing objects. Now I do one to three boxes a year. I make a box, then I do a line of jewelry to go with the box. Basically the box sets the tone for the whole line of jewelry. Each of them works as a functional box. All are one of a kind. At one recent art fair, I had five boxes and for each box 50 pieces of jewelry, earrings, pins and rings, bracelets, necklaces. Lots and lots of earrings.

 We started climbing together and the moment he started riding I realized that he meant business today. So he made 4:30 on top, and I couldn't believe it.

 That's now 42 goals against which averages two a game. That means we need to get three goals to win a match. That's why we went five at the back, to give them a hand. We sacrificed the flair up front, knowing that they were on the bench and we could throw them on.

 We started off not bad in the first but after that I don't know what we were doing. We kind of started playing by ourselves ... and we got caught turning the puck over way too many times and couldn't really find our game.
