 We once again showed our ability to come back with four runs in the sixth inning. Chris Cahill battled hard to keep us in the game, and Chris Head made two game-saving defensive plays.

 I was able to do a lot of things I haven't been able to do for awhile, ... This is the kind of game I?m really good at. West Coast game, up and down, run a lot. I hope I can bring that back to Chicago.

 I look at the stats and kind of see a different game than I watched. I didn't really like the game I watched, to be honest with you. But the stats say we did some things well. And I was very proud of Maurice Ager and Paul Davis at halftime. They vowed we'd be better defensively in the second half, and we were.

 We knew what this game represented, ... Once the game started, I think the players had our minds on football and the aspects of what we had to do to get the job done. I'm thinking about place-kicking and doing the best job that I can. But when the buzzer sounded and the game was over, I kind of realized what this game had meant to a lot of people.  Overall, I'm very pleased with how we played tonight. Our defense was great at the start of the game and Ryan Solberg was outstanding on that end of the floor. But then we lost some of that intensity and West got back into the game. We weathered the West storm in the second half and got back on track. This was a very nice W for the kids.

 Once the puck started rolling our way, once Chris got the those three goals, everyone was kind of chirping up on the bench. But then we realized we had to get back to business.

 Coming into the game, I knew we would be fine on defense. My concern was being able to score enough points to keep up with Newman and when you miss as many bunnies and free throws as we did it's not going to go well.

 After the Holmes game, we kind of went back to the drawing board. We really reiterated our defensive philosophy about stopping people from getting to the basket.

 You know what, I'm sure that's exactly what he wants. He's a competitive guy. I go back to the Olympics, when he lost to Finland 5-0 in his first game. He came his next game against Canada and stopped 54 out of 54. I watched him play that game, and he was outstanding. He's that type of person.

 (Lynch has) great vision, tremendous speed. You've got to make him run east and west, not north and south. He's a game-breaker kind of back, the kind of back you'd love to have on your team. He's a tremendous ballplayer.
