 I've obviously got a psychological advantage being a spinner against those guys, with the record that I've got against South Africa. If they want to juice [the wicket] up and negate me, I'll take my 0 for 40 and we win in three days. That means a series win and a couple of days of golf. I'll take it every time.

 We're expecting a very hard conTest ? South Africa will be desperate for a series win, after losing to Australia. We have never won a series against South Africa, and we have a real hunger for this series. We want to measure ourselves in South Africa, where our results have always been poor.

 We've got a new challenge with the series against New Zealand. It'll be nice to see some black caps out there instead of the baggy green. So we're looking forward to that challenge. There is the danger that we've been playing some very hard cricket, but we've got 10 days off, which means the guys can go away and get mentally prepared for New Zealand. It's a huge series for us. I think it's a series that could define our season. We're going to be taking it very seriously - it's a very big series for us.

 I ran out of juice. I've fighting a bug the last couple of days.

 Our two major worries coming here so late in the summer were firstly, would the team be in one piece, and secondly how tired we would be. But after the West Indies series we're actually feeling very fresh, we feel pretty good. We've played probably half as much test cricket as South Africa, with breaks in between, and we're here with our full team. A lot has been said about how tired South Africa are and how they need time off.

 (Tonight) is a big game. We got a couple days off. It's not a whole week which is nice. We had a couple days of good hard practice, and maybe a little rest. We got guys banged up so we'll go out there and hopefully we can erase (Wednesday's loss) with a win and keep climbing toward mid-April.

 It's my overpowering length that is such an asset on a golf course like this, ... He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. The course is playing well, and it's playing fast. I've hit the ball solidly the last couple of days and had enough opportunities that I've taken advantage of a few. I hope I can continue that.

 The producers are looking at Winnipeg and, get this, South Africa. Apparently that's where everybody's going these days.

 The perception that the wicket was flat played a part (in the way South Africa bowled),

 You don't know what you're going to get, but we got a nice day. Monday, it was blowing 30-40 mph here. You get one of those days in the next couple days, and the guys playing here are going to be at a big disadvantage.

 I told the guys a couple of days ago that whoever I thought played the best the next two days is going to start, so that's what we did.

 I figured it was better to have fresh arms come Tuesday. We were just not fresh. While we were playing all these games, other teams had four days off. I told the guys to go home and not think about baseball for a few days. Go play golf or do whatever. Then we'll start it up again.

 Some guys, who may be playing in the test series, may need a game or two off to rest and rebuild their strength and that is something I've asked the selectors to ponder over the next couple of days. But we need to win on Saturday, so it's first things first.

 South Africa have been waiting for us for some time and from what I gather they won't have forgotten the outcome of that series,
